Instead of trying to trade for AD, we should look into getting Jrue Holiday...
Maybe a deal centered around Kuzma going to Pels for Jrue |

NY makes more sense from NO pov. Get him out if conference, don't give AD/Lakers/Kiutch what they want but still give him a good/great situation, and get RJ to pair with Zion.
Robinson
Zion | Knox
Barret
Jrue
Smith | Ntilikina
I'm stating to come to the conclusion we have no shot.... |
I think NO knows Zion isn't too happy about going there but maybe they can help him feel better if they pair him with Barrett if he falls to three. |

It’s a shame if the pelicans really won’t get off that stance but what can we do if they don’t want to talk. Hopefully Griff can talk some sense into Gayle about getting best offer no matter if it’s from the Lakers. |

Time to move on from AD. Pelicans rather lose him for free worst case scenario than trade him to the lakers. Guess we just have to hope this season these young guys finally put it together |

I’d rather trade the #4 pick than Kuzma. It would be crazy if the Pelicans wound up with 3 of the top 4 picks. |

I do think the Pels may act against their self interest b/c of their enmity towards LA. So be it. We will be just fine. |
I would not even call them tbh.
In a few years, it will be funny to see the same process play out with Zion.
There is a reason some organizations are allergic to success. The Pels are one of those petty organizations that is willing to limit their chances for success. Good luck to them |

The 4th pick will only be traded for a legit star.
I actually like this team better.
PG: Lonzo Ball
PG: Jrue Holiday
SF: Kawhi Leonard
PF. LeBron James
C: Dwayne Dedmon
That team could win a lottt of games and make a run at the finals. |

Depends on if you're trading for Beal after trying to sign another max FA or not.
If the Lakers sign Kyrie and trade for Beal they would 1) need to cut Bonga to afford Irving (smart job bringing him over asap, Maginka) and 2) trade Lonzo, #4 pick, Kuz, Hart, and Moe to match salaries.
So the Lakers would be left with Kyrie, Beal, Lebron, BI, the $5M room exception and vet minumum contracts to fill out the roster. _________________ Under New Management |

If NO seems determined to start the season with AD on the roster, then it would be wise to start working on BI's extension (after we sign Kawhi of course). Ideally, it would start around $15 mil per year. The Lakers need a bigger contract so they don't have to pile so many assets into a midseason trade offer for AD, but it shouldn't be too big due to health and fit concerns. |

I don't believe this report at all. Even if it's true, I don't think it's something that a smart guy like David Griffin would allow to leak as it hampers leverage with teams like the Celtics and Knicks. |

1. BI will want more than that.
2. IIRC, the extension would kick in the next season 2020-21, not 2019-20. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Let's get a max guy in first. We can potentially sign AD next season.
This mess is seemingly gonna work it's way out and in the long run it will be in our favor.
This summer is going to be big. |

So now that reality is setting in for some of you on AD.. You're back to Beal lol.
I've read not one single report that he's available. And if he were, Ingram and 4 wouldn't cut it as far as a trade is concerned. |

If we get a good max and start winning, might buy us time to next summer but is the $ math there to sign a UFA AD next summer? |

I think the Pels trade angle may be asking to be strung along again as leverage when the deal is being catered to non Lakers team. We all know the Lakers leverage angle that is used against us by FAs and trade situations alike.
We should not feel it's AD or bust b/c it really isn't. |
Whole-heartedly agree. If we can sign a second superstar, part of me would prefer a trade for someone like Beal in which we keep one of Lonzo/Ingram/#4 as opposed to giving up everything for AD. Bron/Kawhi/Beal and one of Lonzo or Ingram is pretty tantalizing.
Regardless — the Lakers are in position to have an excellent summer. It would frankly be hard to screw this up. Here’s to hoping Jeanie and the Rambii don’t find a way to. |
Without Beal we would be devastating IMO.
Lonzo
BI
KL
LBJ
Room exception center.
You'd still have a #4 pick (Garland, Hunter, Culver, etc.), Hart, Kuz, Mo, Bonga, etc. plus any ring chasers. |
In theory I agree, but if you have KL and 35-year old LeBron, you need to go all-in for a title in the next 3 years. If you can get a Beal-level impact player (who’s still only 27 btw) and keep one of your blue-chip assets (lonzo, BI, #4) you have to do it. |

Agreed, after the second max.. you don't need to make any major moves. Complimentary pieces is all you need. |

unless the Knicks are also offloading pretty much all of their future 1st rounders they collected then thats not better than the Lakers offer.

not a big fan of AD, he's way too injury prone. and when healthy, his Pelican team was not making any noise anyway. bottomline, he's not a game changer, we need PERIMETER STARS, not big men, the days of dominant big men are long gone. |

Dont take the Pelicans news at face value. Ofcourse they would like to relay the perception they have no interest in trading with us... they want to up the ante and have the Lakers willing to bring in a crazy godfather offer.
The Lakers in return should be leaking out how much they love the player they will be able to draft at #4 _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |
