Real question: if his current play & health hold up, when should the Lakers consider bringing D'Lo back?

Pelinka would have to make up with Mintz. Not happening.

We would have to throw him the max and hope that Brooklyn is too busy chasing KD and they miss their window. If they match the offer then we did right by DLO.

Do you think it would be worth it for the Lakers to attempt this? Our options are looking remarkably slimmer than what many on this forum think..

He's not worth max money.

Counterpount: he's 23 and could outplay a 25% max contract with continued improvement.

Right. People assume "max" money is the same thing.

There are several tiers, and he would be on the lowest tier and improving every year.

We are likely going to throw 32m/year to a 29 or 30 year old Kemba/Jimmy. Think about that for a minute.

If it meant losing our cap space, then I'd rather punt to 2020 instead of giving our max amount to Russell. I view Russell like I view Kemba, he's fine, a good All-Star level talent, but not someone I'd want the Lakers to commit to for 4 years.

You do know they can't pay BI and afford another max contract in 2020, right?

Let's see where BI's health is before assuming an extension.

His cap hold is around $23M.

Why don't we wait to see where these guys actually sign their names on the dotted line to play for before we started crowning anonymous sources as being right. Kawhi of all people seems impossible to predict.

What else can we do for the next 6 months?

We've only got to wait 3 more months.

I don’t think they will lose to ORL, but that’s not what we need for him to leave...

ESPN Insider’s Bobby Marks on how he would approach an AD trade this summer:

“The Lakers' trade proposal for AD now should be limited to:

- Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball
- 2019 lottery pick
- 2021 unprotected first-round pick

Quote:
... roster would consist of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Moritz Wagner, Isaac Bonga and $27 million in room to build out the roster in free agency.”

Marks also stated to set a June 30 deadline for a trade.

Could do that S&T for Kawhi as well.

OMG, are we still believing this goof? Just because he said this means nothing. Until free agency, all these guys are just guessing.....

Wow... that's exciting if Ireland's saying that Kawhi's not going to the Clippers.

I also can live with that AD trade quoted on this page.

Lonzo/Kuzma/Lotto/21 is fair...

Mainly because LaVar seems unreasonable to deal with long term... so might as well trade him before he walks anyway.

I bet it's for consultation and not as the pobo.
But who knows.

This was a follow up. Let’s see how credible he is lol

Quote:
At this moment it’s still unknown whether Jerry West wants any part of Lakers. Who will lead the recruiting once Clippers grant permission? Ryan West, who is also expected to have a bigger role within Lakers ORG.

I want both. And yes, that means trading Ingram, Lonzo, Hart, Wagner, Bonga, and 10th pick for AD.

If we are looking at West, then Rob having power in the FO is false, I bet we are looking for West to be our POB.
