I’m glad Nunez is gone. The whole league was laughing at how bad our medical staff were. I guess they’ve heard.

And Vitti looked like a Casino Manager. 😝

Funny how we both talked about them in the past tense, like they’re dead or something...

Finally fired the Vitti crew. Time to get an elite cutting edge medical and training staff put in place and a new S&C team too.

Best of luck to Marco, he's been with the Lakers since the D-Fenders days. Hope Nina Hsieh will be able to stay on in some capacity.

The Lakers fired athletic trainer Marco Nuñez on Weds, sources told ESPN. Nuñez joined LAL as an asst trainer in 08-09 & ascended to the head position in ‘16, succeeding Gary Vitti. LAL players had missed 212 games due to injury in ‘18-19, 9th most in the NBA, per Spotrac

thank god

Did they misspell Gunner Peterson?

I have no dog in this fight, but can we at least start giving reasons for why we want somebody gone other than vague causation/correlation arguments? None of us have a clue how effective Gunnar or some of the other low key staff positions are at their jobs.

Is Alex McKechnie available? Maybe the Lakers can bring on the Core-X training system?

Get the BEST (WO)MAN AVAILABLE. As this season proved, we need a healthy team.

Yeah where is the trainer that kept Klay going after he badly twisted his ankle badly in the Finals last year (his dad said he didn’t know how he was walking much less still playing much less still playing effectively). I know she left the Warriors I forgot where she went anyway let’s get her she seems to have a magic wand.LOL

Way too many games missed by injury.

You could argue fluke injuries, whatever....bottom line is his results weren't good.

I say continue to cut the dead weight.

I agree with the call, but which exec made that decision to fire? Pelinka or Jeannie or one of the associate GMs?

The Lonzo time table should have been the last straw.

4-6 weeks for a grade 3 ankle sprain? lol

A bunch of 10 year olds could have looked it up on google and come to the same conclusion that in the end turned to out be right.
