I dont think anyone likes the way he went out
but
my real question is how much of the good that has happened the last 2 years been Magic? Because
- We do in fact have Lebron
- We do infact have a young core of players
- We do in fact have our salary cap cleaned up and/if we can get another prime player to take our money to come play with Lebron
How much of that was Magic Johnson
Also.....even if it WAS a lot with Magic all is not lost....just be smart on the next hire/hires to continue on the progression of the team |
I was joking because RI Laker spent the last two years treating Magic like Jesus reincarnated.
In my post above I called his tenure unnecessarily tumultuous but a net positive overall. His efforts to build around Lebron over the past nine months have been concerning, though, and may have pointed to an impending poor decision this summer if he didn't step down. |
Thanks for caring. |

Cupboards aren't empty while we still have BI and Zo, who imo can reach the level that DLo and Randle have. |
If no one comes here, he's right. It was a risky move done by Magic.
Personally, I would have cleared the cupboard myself for KL and or AD.
To each his own. |
Neither were coming. And due to cutting young players and not paying them, a trade for either would mean trading 4-5 players for 1. That isn’t realistic. At least Mitch was experienced enough to know that having salary ballast was important, we got Pau and two titles as a result. |
Mitch has more minuses than pluses.
+ got Pau
- gave big contracts to Pau, Deng, and Moz, making them un-tradeable
- unable to trade Pau several times
- expected a buyout
- unable to re-sign D12
- couldn't come up with a better offer than the Clippers for CP3
- succumbed to Nash's request and traded away 4 #1 picks
.

4 rings, I see that you conveniently ignored that |
LOL, seriously.
Rings >>>>> all the minuses |

Thanks for Lebron, Magic.
And thanks for leaving in time for us to find a new replacement before the draft. It would have sucked if you stayed a bit longer and quit later. |

Hey, let's let the people who want to thank Magic in this thread do so. If you want to argue whether he deserves it or not and why, plenty of places to do that.
