This is one Laker fan who's said that the season went south when LeBron got hurt, and that injuries happen and that's nobody's fault.
It's what's happened since the injury. It was the utter collapse of the team with the young guys unable to keep it together and play just competent basketball for the 6 weeks or whatever it was when LeBron was out.
It was the apparent total collapse of the org after the very public pursuit of Anthony Davis which didn't get done.
It was the idiotic decision after signing LeBron to keep a weak coach in place, which has met with the totally predictable results.
It was the idiotic Zubac trade.
It's the sense that in the Jeanie/Magic/Pelinka triumvirate, something's just not quite right, and that whatever the plan is, will it be executed and will it work?
It was LeBron's pathetic attitude since he's been back. And frankly that's the most worrisome thing of all. Oh, and it would be nice if he would learn to shoot free throws this summer. Since he's the GOAT and all.
Hope springs eternal. Next season will be here before we know it. |

Lastly, harping on former players that are doing well elsewhere... simply continue to applaud their success — to the contrary if Zubac was going to be the next super center, nah why go there. |
nah.....
Kobe definitely isn't the same dude he was before...

Ok, So how do you fix it? Should the FO just HOPE that our key guys get better and can play an entire season?
Or do they look to replace them with more reliable players?
Consider these players and the numbers of games they missed:
ZO: 30 games last season, 35 games this season
Ingram: 23 games last season and 30 games this season
Hart: 19 games last season, 15 games this season
Kuz: 5 games last season, 12 games this season (if he does not return)
Rondo: 34 games this season
Lakers are in business to win games, not to operate a rehab center or a charity - Injured players do not contribute....
Is is time to get some reliable players??? _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

Exactly. He's just being polite. The entire team is using injuries as an excuse. I hate excuses and people that make them. |

We can always count on Kobe to tell the unvarnished truth when it comes to talking about his idol, his former agent, and the woman who gave him 50 million after he tore his Achilles. |

Yeah it was injuries, but with a more balanced roster, such as having one or two more shooters, a scoring backup PG, better coaching, and maybe a better attitude from Lebron, the team might have been able to weather the injury bug and still get into the playoffs
Instead they quickly sunk. They had no margin for error - a bunch of one year contracts from TJ Maxx will do that. |

Somehow it doesn’t occur to people that Kobe might be wrong? (I know, inpossible right)
Or, unwilling to throw his Laker family under the bus and use the same lame excuse of injuries? An excuse by the way, which can literally be used every season if you need to.
Blaming it on the injuries is either lazy or seeing things through purple and gold colored glasses. There is no doubt it played a role, but if you think injuries is the main reason we’ll do barely better than last season, you’re missing something. |

Is it reliable players or a reliable training staff or just unfortunate circumstances? |

Formula to win with LeBron James:
-James handles the ball and uses his gravity, and elite passing to find open shooters. (LeBron James)
-Actual surround him with three point shooters/threats for spacing. (JR Smith, Mike Miller, James Jones, Kyle Korver, Ray Allen etc.)
-One star player who can handle the ball, create his own shot, and is reliable in the clutch. (Kyrie Irving, Wade)
-Bench guys who are scrappy along with bigs who literally just play defense, and rebound.
This current Lakers team, only has Lebron... _________________ The most important shot in basketball. |

I would rather they use injuries as an excuse instead of throwing players/coaches under the bus. That could hurt our shot at FAs. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

2 things can be true at the same time.
1) We would've made the playoffs if we weren't so injured. Haven't seen a playoff bound team be so devastated by injury since OKC had Westbrook, Durant, and Ibaka all miss a month +.
2) Our FO sold low on multiple pieces of our young core. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Think of it like this...
- We lost Julius Randle and Brook Lopez
- We added 55 games of Lebron James
We won between 1 and 3 more games as a result. |

Kobe was a great former player who would make a great executive just like MJ. Jeanie should definitely hire him to our FO for his great expertise. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend! |
