MEET KRANCH: HEINZ'S NEW KETCHUP AND RANCH HYBRID SAUCE SPARKS MIXED FEELINGS ONLINE
BY DORY JACKSON ON 4/4/19 AT 5:20 PM EDT
April Fools' Day may have just happened Monday, but Heinz's newly debuted condiment Kranch—a combination of ketchup and ranch—seems to have arrived a couple days too late. Sorry folks, but Kranch is real and it's here to stay.
Kranch was announced Wednesday via Heinz's official Twitter page. It's the third condiment hybrid concocted by Heinzin 2019. Mayomust, the pairing of mayonnaise and mustard, and Mayocue, which combines mayonnaise and barbeque, hit shelves in March 2019. Before these three sauces appeared, Heinz combined mayonnaise and ketchup together in September 2018 to create Mayochup.
"When we launched Mayochup, Mayomust and Mayocue, our fans speculated on social media what they thought the next condiment mashup should be—the tweets were pouring in," Dalia Adler, Associate Director of Marketing for Heinz, said in a statement issued to Newsweek. "Inspired by our fans' ideas, our new Kranch sauce is a blend of ketchup and ranch that will completely change your condiment game this summer."
While it might seem as if Kranch is a flight of fancy from a drunken frat boy, it's the perfect item for people who struggle to choose between two different condiment flavors. However, many people have expressed mixed feelings about the product via Twitter.
Many Twitter users pokeed fun at the sauce. One suggested Kranch "sounds like a hyper specific regional hip hop style" whereas a second individual claimed that it "sounds like a cross between Krampus and the Grinch." Others expressed their disgust for the blended sauce, with one person arguing how "THIS isn't it" and another suggested it'd be best to "bring the mothef***ing apocalypse and just end this." There were some people in support of Kranch; one person said they "may be buying" and another suggested that "ketchup and ranch is lit."

In announcing Kranch to the masses on Wednesday, Heinz announced plans to award 100 lucky fans one of the first bottles of the hybrid sauce. The winners will be announced on Sunday and will be picked from all eligible entries.
"Heinz Ketchup will have a call to action in the form of a tweet to the Twitter community asking them to 'tweet' their response via Twitter for the opportunity to win a bottle of Heinz Kranch Sauce," a statement on Heinz's website reads. "Respond to [a] tweet from @HeinzKetchup_US including the hashtag #KlaimMyKranch #sweeps to participate. All entries must be received between 8 a.m. ET on 4/3/19 and 11:59 p.m. ET on 4/5/19 to be eligible."
Heinz isn't the only food brand to experiment with uniquely flavored offerings. Frito-Lay, for one, has unveiled an assortment of unusual Doritos chip flavors globally, including Doritos Black Garlic and Doritos Clam Chowder.

I'd rather put shampoo conditioner on my food. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know
