Yeah, as I suppose others do, I scrolled by this maybe dozens of times. I read something about how good was the second season (95% on Rotten Tomatoes), and much better than the first. The next time I was scrolling through the shows, I stopped. I watched. I watched two episodes the first night, then two, then four. If the second season is even better, I can't wait.
It is science fiction but not in the usual sense as it deals with subjects that are really unknown.
I am hesitant to give this a full bore thumbs up, as I expect this might just not be everyone's cup o tea. But it is a well made well mystery which moves along without getting bogged down much. There are side stories of course, but they don't detract from the ride for the most part. I really don't want to try to explain it, as watching the story unfold is what makes it compelling.
The protagonist, the leading lady, is Brit Marling, who I was unfamiliar with until the show, is really quite good in her off-beat role. Oh yes, and there is a villain as well. Is there ever. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

The way the first season resolves itself is so preposterous and weird it should have been a disaster and maybe it was but it I kinda enjoyed it. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

I'm gonna watch some of it today. What does OA stand for? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I don't believe it was revealed in season 1, so this just might be one of the mysteries solved in season 2. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

I don't watch but a quick search finds....
What does OA stand for Netflix?
original angel
JoJo Whilden—Netflix. 4. What made the OA the “original angel”? According to Khatun, the OA is the original, but why is she so special? She did gulp that glow-in-the dark bird so she can “fly freely.

I have to agree that to think about it, rationally, it is out there, but for whatever reason, I became more emotionally involved and really enjoyed it. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Yes, she did refer to herself as that didn't she. Mr. Lame-o here (I claim sole rights to this moniker) did not put 2 and 2 together. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Watched first episode last night. It didn't really grab my attention and I don't get what's going on but I'll give it a few more episodes. The first episode of Umbrella Academy was really slow as well but turned out great. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

I am now 5 and a half episodes into the second season--never say I'll end after a particular episode, as the endings are often the most interesting part, and you will inevitably find yourself watching just one more.
It is surreal but focused, engrossing like a great book, worthy of the Rotten Tomatoes rating, and as entertaining and captivating a show as I've seen in awhile. Think of David Lynch (especially with Twin Peaks) but actually entertaining; obscure, but with a purpose; a mystery that is continually unfolding, but leaving you wanting to know more.
I highly recommend the second season. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

I love this show and it just got cancelled by Netflix! Damn Netflix - hundreds of crappy movies and shows and they couldn't keep this. The ending of Season 2 was such a mindblower that I was really hoping for at least one more season. |

I enjoy shows that involve a little bit of additional thought to understand. But the purposeful ambiguity in OA was a little too over the top for even my taste.
I do wish Netflix would inform writers ahead of time when it's gonna be the last season though. If they keep this up their catalog is gonna be filled with shows that have unresolved cliffhangers. Which usually hurts a show's re-watchability. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |
