Agreed. Aldo is top of the division but far away from max.

He should fight Conor or move up to 155 but he’ll be too small there. Even beating Ortega gets him what? Another beating from max?

Moraes will prob have to wait for dillashaw vs Cejudo at 135. But he absolutely has earned his title shot and I could see him beating tj tbh

Khabib camp finally admitted tony is next. I look for that fight around October- Novemberish time frame. Porier is pissed btw

Also did you guys see Johnny walker? Kids got start written all over him. Especially if he speaks more English. Once he gets more experience he has the base to give bones problems at LHW. Tall, lanky, athletic, fluid, and unpredictable. A real showman too

LOL at Anderson Silva’s emotional weigh-in interview breaking up Style Bender and bringing him to the verge of tears. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like that before. Rooting for Spider to show out even if hopes of victory are futile.

He’s a cheating ass but damn it, if he isn’t a likeable one.

I was just thinking yesterday about how much it sucks that he chose steroids. I am guessing it was recovery time enhancer..

Israel is gonna kill him..

The way he treated Vitor Belfort after he was knocked out is something I will never forget and made me appreciate the sport even more.

2:15 mark approx

sort of off topic.. but I watched a lot of Tyson videos lately and dude was a total trip in how kind he was to many of his opponents after he knocked them out. Help them up .. hold them.. speak kindly to them... etc

*I always felt like Spider Silva held deep respect for his skill and the art of fighting. He seemed reluctant to destroy his opponents other than Rich Franklin

Interesting take. Iron Mike is the tale of a powerful, born-to-be gladiator who was simultaneously a lost sheep in need of a shepherd. Cuss was the best things that ever happens to Mike and the worst thing he lost. Exactly the opposite for Don King.

Anderson is just pure entertainment
Dudes what almost 44?
He’s fighting prime athletes who are the best at their weight
Just pure smarts get him to compete

He’s lost some of that quick movement he had 10 years ago
But still so much fun to watch

I fell asleep before it started.. streaming on my phone.. woke up phone dead lol

Glad to hear Silva put up a worthy match

43? years old..

Seen the gifs of the head fakes still achieved by Silva..

Like Phil Jackson telling Kobe to save his knees by dunking less
Greats like Silva and Jones avoid getting hit in the face as much as possible

Anderson Silva Wants Nick Diaz Rematch In Brazil

Quote:
“Now I have a chance to fight in my city where everything started. I talked to Ed [Soares] and I talked to my team, maybe I think make sense fight me and Nick Diaz in Curitiba. Let’s go see. Just waiting for Dana, cause it’s not time to make a good decision or not but hopefully I go fight in Curitiba.

“It’s a very interesting fight because the last fight with me and Nick is a no contest. I talked to [Nick’s manager] a couple of months ago about this fight and Nick said ‘OK, let’s go do it. Let’s go talk to Dana and let’s do it’. Let’s go see. I don’t know. I’m just waiting for Dana.”

Just an impressive showing for Spider. It’s what I was hoping for.

Adesanya was giving Silva a lot of respect. I know he has to be cautious because Anderson lays so many traps and a couple of those jackhammer jabs of Silva’s found the mark every time Israel got to thinking maybe he could just walk Anderson down.

It was one of those fights that’s good for the UFC. Old lion playing chess to keep things interesting. Young stud gets the W. True spirit of martial arts at play and now, onto the next.

Whittaker going down just sucked so much excrement. Like 22 said, best not to buy an event until an hour before. How does he not experience any pain until just hours before the fight? And

to the point of vomiting? I think one problem might be that these fighters just face a HUGE challenge letting go when they get so close to fight night. In some senses, it’s admirable but, for the company and fans, it’s frustrating and a enormously deflating. I mean, how often do boxing matches get postponed? And, when they do, how many so close to the event?

Not sure what can be done other than periodic, UFC-represented exams.

It just happens far too often. Not only do we get cheated but so does another fighter who would gladly step in. One of the greatest fights in recent UFC history happened that way (McGregor/Diaz I) but there was more than just hours to prepare.

Oh and I find it very intriguing that Silva wants to avenge his NC against Nick. I, personally, don’t think we’re ever going to see Nick Diaz in the octagon again and, after all these years, I hope we don’t. Too much time, too much weed and too many brain have passed by. He doesn’t look right anymore.

Even though it was a medical condition
Can there be punishment or loss of belt because of (bleep) like this

I don't care if you can't fight

That is the fighters fault, not the fans
not the challengers

The fighter FAILED to maintain proper physical conditioning

Lose the belt.. forfeit the fight

How much life did the challenger give up to train for this fight?

I'd sue Whittaker for incompetence

Dana essentially said poor Whittaker blew out his blowhole.

Yeah man. An erupted colon? That deserves a pass from me.

From watching the slow-mo that uppercut from Ngannou clipped Cain and made his knee buckle. Once he hit the floor defenseless against Ngannou it was all over.

I’m not surprised this is how it went with Cain
I had an eerie feeling to that of Cain JDS 1
Cain coming an injury long layoff
Young guy with incredible knockout power
All it took was one shot
And Cain was definitely rusty look at how close he got without actually taking down FN

If there were a rematch I’d for sure pick Cain

However for now the match to make is Francis vs Cormier

Forget Brock
I like Brock’s fights a lot
But he doesn’t deserve a title shot

DC is lucky it wasn’t a more obvious KO or ngannou would have so much hype they would have to give him a title shot.

Idk what they’re gonna do because DC really wants Brock, but I’m not sure that does the most number. Jones vs Brock would be a bigger fight

I don't think the JDS fights had anything to do with his chronic knee and back issues.

Imo, it has way more to do with his strength and conditioning coach:

There are more clips with the same common theme.

Perhaps you misunderstood
I said that this fight was similar to his first fight with a young in prime JDS
JDS had been knocking people out and just boxing the (bleep) out of people until then and had huge power. Cain came into the fight after a shoulder surgery and layoff and got hit with a huge JDS shot and that was that.

Ngannou landed but that knee was effed. Former champ is broke. Time to move into the booth. Shame. Would have loved to see the prime version face Stipe.
