I respect the commitment to the thread. I used to think I was ok at Tekken then I played people who just played more than I do and got annihilated. I can't imagine how poorly I would do against really good players.

Well like other things, you need to study/practice the concepts/science in Tekken to be better.

Sample of Tekken concepts are pokes, frame data, korean back dashing, breaking throws, mind games, homing moves, movement etc.

Relative Unknown Destroys Some of the Best Tekken 7 Players in the World to Win Mind-Blowing Tournament

Quote:
Arslan_Ash, a relatively unknown Kazumi player from Pakistan, just won the Tekken 7 tournament at Evo Japan 2019. The event welcomed many of the game's very best players from all over the world, but none of them could stand in Arslan's way as he dismantled the competition.

Arslan popped up on the global Tekken scene last year, when he was able to beat Knee -- widely considered to be one of, if not the best Tekken 7 player in the world -- to win a tournament in Dubai. What's more, it was an incredibly convincing victory, with Knee unable to win a single match.

However, Arslan didn't attend many -- if any -- of the other major tournaments throughout the rest of 2018. His victory over Knee was quite quickly forgotten about as the South Korean master went on to dominate the Tekken World Tour. It's probably safe to say that many put Arslan's accomplishment down as a bit of a fluke.

Tekken World Tour 2019 Revealed with $185K Prize Pool

Quote:
BANDAI NAMCO’s Tekken World Tour returns for 2019 with 25+ international stops.
The season has a $185K+ USD prize pool, with the Bangkok finals offering at least $100K for competitors.
Two new competitive categories have been added, including one that allows smaller community events to award World Tour ranking points.
The Tekken World Tour will return this year with additional international event stops, format changes, and a World Finals event in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 2019 Tour will include more than 25 events around the world, including new stops like Dubai, Cape Town, Toronto, and Athens. The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) 2019 tournament in Las Vegas will also be part of the Tekken World Tour, along with Combo Breaker outside Chicago and events in other returning locations like Atlanta, Tokyo, and Berlin. The season’s first event takes place at MIXUP in Lyon, France on April 20.

Ultimately, the series will culminate in the Tekken World Tour Finals in Bangkok later this year, with a $100K “baseline purse,” according to a release. That suggests the potential for a higher prize pool, perhaps based on a share of in-game Tekken 7 purchases like what Ubisoft does with the Rainbow Six Pro League.

The entire Tekken World Tour 2019 season features a $185K+ prize pool, and will be streamed exclusively via Twitch Database-Link-e1521645463907.

Currently playing Negan.

I have a feeling they're going to announce season 3 after EVO finals.
