Russell told Young that he'd been recording at the end of that video. It's always weird to me how that isn't mentioned, it's not like Young stayed unaware that he was being recorded. Have him delete that (bleep) and move on with your lives.

The way that people talked about the content and release of that video always demonstrated how badly they wanted to (bleep) on Russell, context be damned.

Dude is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He was probably high.

Did you expect Dlo to be at this level by year four? Over-exceeded, under-exceeded, or fulfilled your expectations of him by year four?

This is about where I would've expected him to be with a good coach/system. His passing/ball-handling has improved a lot this year based on what I've seen, with him making fewer dumb mistakes and having a better feel for when to make some of his flashier passes.

I underestimated his ability to get white hot a bit though. I knew he had that in him, but I didn't think he'd be able to access that as frequently as he has recently. If he's doing that this frequently at 22, he's gonna be a handful at 25-27.

I think the next step for him is learning how to use his physicality to draw more free throws.

The kid has developed an almost 90° floater when he's in the paint shooting over bigs - it continues to impress how much skill work he puts in to overcome his lack of burst/hops while maximizing his size/standing reach.

I expect the work ethic was always there, and if DLo needed to channel some of his efforts toward smarter work instead of harder work at age 19-20, it was on the grown men around him to coach him towards those goals even if they didn't like him as a person.

I dedicate this picture to years of dumb arguments on LG. Without your terrible takes, this would have still been possible.

Why do I keep torturing myself by coming in this thread?

I bet if we had done the same deal with Ingram instead of Russell we could have gotten levert back too. Ingram had a lot of value at the time

I would imagine us drafting Tatum if we trading Ingram
