By law from where I sit Trump is guilty of treason.
If found guilty of treason Trump could get away for a light sentence and fine.
I'm disappointed with the law governing treason.

By law, since the United States is not in a declared state of war with them, Russia and others do not meet the legal definition of enemies. _________________ “We must always take sides. Just because I can't make this analogy anywhere else on this website, sometimes I feel like Magic is Donald Trump and Mitch is Barak Obama. Carry on all. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Quote: | Congressional negotiators say they have reached an agreement in principle to avert a government shutdown at the end of this week.
The four lead bipartisan negotiators, emerging from talks Monday night, declined to get into details on how the agreement was struck, but when asked whether it included barrier funding and a resolution to the detention bed issue, Senate Appropriations Chairman Richard Shelby said: "We got an agreement on all of it." |

Jokes aside, Magic is just as qualified to be President as Donald Trump.
And Donald Trump wouldn't last as an NBA exec. He'd be forced to step down based on his past comments and sexual misconduct alone.
It's really sad when you think about it. The President of the United States is held to such a low standard. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Every Democratic nominee is inevitably put through a series of authenticity (bleep) tests that Republicans are exempted from because it’s in the interests of the rich people who run the media to sideline the substantive stakes in American politics. |

Klobuchar making the interesting decision to stake out the center left, let’s work together territory. In a year where getting as far left on a few issues as you can while keeping touch with the mainstream left seems the prime territory, she’s going to get to the right of most of the field. Can’t say whether she’s right or not, but she is certainly trying to get the Biden position. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. I’m solid mainstream left with some pretty far left idealism mixed in. I want the party to find that sweet spot where they move some of that left agenda forward, not just nibble at it. I think a move toward single payer is getting ripe and there’s going to have to be some way to offset automation with a basic income. But it’s got to be people who know how to get it done. I so want the mainstream Dems and the far left to come to agreement, not try to walk each other off. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. So far of the candidates who have declared, I can get solidly behind Klobuchar, Harris, and Booker. I have some issues with Warren, though of course I would support her "enthusiastically", like Woj might say, if she won the nomination. Not a fan of Bernie and Gabbard. I would like to familiarize myself more with Kirsten Gillibrand before I form an opinion on her, and I feel the same about Julian Castro.
A quick look at Gillibrand's wikipedia page suggests that I would probably be a fan, if she doesn't come across as a poor communicator/leader. Are there any Gillibrand supporters (or detractors) here, someone that can offer some perspective? |

Green New Deal (some grand plan for fighting climate change), single payer, and income inequality are at the top of my wish list. I always thought myself as pretty center left, but I love what AOC is doing to the Overton Window and find myself agreeing with her a lot. Although part of my shift left might be (ironically?) because I started working |

She answers that with ease. Yes I can be tough, but I have high expectations for myself, my staff and my country.
She is the first person who looks at a progressive as do I, going to a root of the word, seeking progress, as did the progressive era. I see her as more of a progressive, seeking equal opportunity, but not an absolute liberal--a progressive also seeking equal outcome. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

This is interesting because I think it's much easier to prove obstruction of justice than collusion/coordination. And that 29% number means even some Republicans aren't willing to overlook obstruction.

There's having high expectations for your staff and there's this:
Quote: | In a potentially embarrassing AP report for the newest 2020 presidential nominee Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), more than a dozen current and former staffers describe her as an abusive boss who often tried to have job offers rescinded when they tried to jump ship.
Interviews with some of Klobuchar’s Capitol Hill staffers portray a hostile work environment that was run on fear, abuse, and humiliation. According to staffers, the overly critical senator will sometimes turn a single mistake into a “multi-day affair” of shaming and demeaning, followed by post-work angry late-night phone calls and all-caps emails.
“The way she treats staff is disqualifying,” said a former female staffer, who made it clear that Klobuchar “has fully earned reputation” as a horrible boss “independent of her gender.”
The former staffer added that she would not vote for Klobuchar in the Democratic primary despite her progressive political views.
Three former Klobuchar staffers told the Huffington Post their boss made them or their coworkers run personal errands for her, such as picking up her dry cleaning, packing her suitcases for travel, and even cleaning and washing her dishes at her house. Four former Hill staffers said she had a reputation for calling prospective employers any time she felt her staffers may betray her and work elsewhere, with intent of sabotaging their chances of being hired.
“There’s definitely something there,” a former male staffer said, adding her behavior “crosses the line.”
According to congressional research, Klobuchar has one of the highest rates of staff turnover in Congress. A Politico report from last year names Klobuchar as one of the “Worst Bosses” in Congress. |
