I think that's where we will draft

you really think we will be in the lottery? I personally think we will be drafting around #17 or #18. Looking over several mocks, it appears that is where some of the "good college big men, but unsure if they will do well in the NBA" type guys start coming off the board....guys like Daniel Gafford, PJ Washington, Brandon Clarke, and Jontay Porter to name a few. Not very exciting stuff in my opinion.

Would u trade that pick for mo bamba? I prefer to get guys on 2/3 year then draft another rookie

I would have at the beginning of the season, but there is something going on with him in Orlando....they do not seem sold on him.

The guy I suggested on the 1st page of this thread is still a great option in my opinion. Dylan Windler, a 6'8" Senior SG that plays for Belmont University. He is averaging 20.3 Points, 10.3 Rebounds and 2.6 Assists while shooting 41% from 3. This weekend, he dropped 41 Points and 12 Rebounds in their game while going 8 of 14 from 3.

I read on their forum he doesn't bring it every night. Maybe it's because he is rookie?

He is now done for the year

If you want a shooter trade the 1st to Miami for Duncan Robinson. Shot lights out from 3 in the Summer League for Miami and he is shooting 48% from 3 on over 9 attempts per game in the Gleague. Played with Mo last year at Michigan.

agreed

we should just literally take the best shooter available when our pick comes up

unless we're in the top 2

RJ Barrett or Jarrett Culver. I think Barrett is the outside shot to be a franchise player more immediately, but he has decision-making issues. Culver is different, but at the NCAA level, he's doing what Brandon Ingram does with PnR and spot up shooting much better.

Would you consider Barrett a perfect fit next to Lonzo?

Not perfect, because his outside shot isn't great, even when he's had extra coaching.

An ideal lineup for Zo is all guys can shoot 35%+ behind the arc, of them be a pick and roll guy, and 1 of them be an elite shooter. Barrett can be a pick and roll guy down the line. Culver is the safer, less exciting bet.

A perfect fit guy is Jontay Porter or De'Andre Hunter.

He's a project player. Should have zero expectations on him this year.

The best shooters won't usually translate quickly. Guys like Shamet learned from Redick. Huerter is an exception.

Just saying.

Me personally, I'd drop Langford to that range and have Brandon Clarke go earlier in the lottery.

But if it's 10-14, just draft Jontay at this point.

Duke was losing by 20 points 39-59 with 7:40 left in the game....and they came back and won 71-69!!!!!! That is a 32-10 run over the last 7 minutes and 40 seconds.

This is becoming a draft where I wish the Lakers had multiple 2nd round picks.

Marial Shayok
Nick Weiler-Babb
Lindell Wiggington
Talen Horten Tucker - Expected 1st round
Tyrese Halibuerton - Unsure he declares but would draft him 1st round

Jon Teske
Charles Matthews
Jordan Poole - Expected 1st
Iggy Brazdeikis - Expected 1st/Early 2nd

Cassius Winston - 2nd round

Miye Oni - Expected 2nd round, should be 1st round

Kerwin Roach - Expected 2nd

Markus Howard - Expected 2nd

Udoka Azbuike
Jarrey Foster
Zach Norvell Jr
Matisse Thybulle - Expected 2nd, should be 1st round
Cam Johnson - Expected 2nd, should be 1st round
Bruno Fernando - Expected 2nd, should be 1st round

Jalen McDaniels - Should be mid to late 1st

That's roughly 19 guys that are expected to be picks #25 and later.

Is this group of late first round - mid second round prospects just slightly worse than the prospects in same range in the 2018 draft or is there quite a bit of difference as some people have been saying when comparing 2019 vs 2018?

Will not be surprised if we try to purchase a 2nd Round pick...especially if the FO thinks they may be trying to do a 3 for 1 type trade this summer. It use to be so easy to buy a pick....not so much anymore.

also, I am starting to get a Cam Reddish draft crush....as in if I had to choose between Barrett and Reddish....it would not be an easy choice for me, and I can see an outcome where Reddish may translate better.

I think it's roughly the equivalent of 36 and later from last year's draft, on a slightly lower half tier of talent. I thought there were really obvious guys that should have been drafted late 1st last year, but they slipped far.

Some guys mentioned, like Thybulle, Fernando, Matthews, Poole, Cam Johnson, Tyrese Haliburton are typical #25 picks or later in average drafts. But I think this tier of talent is so thick, they're all relatively late 1st/early 2nd guys anyway.

I haven't mentioned a lot of players, but just for this tier, I think it's nearly 30 players deep.

So it will be more difficult to find another Shamet (#26) in this range compared to 2018.

There is no Shamet. He's outlier.

The closest is Markus Howard.

Frankly, he wouldn't be the BPA, I'd definitely look elsewhere.

too bad the Lakers gave away a 2nd round pick to the Pistons all willy nilly along with Svi who was a very promising 2nd round pick in his own right.

A 2021 second was sent to Detroit. The 2019 second was already sent out several years ago for Hibbert.
