Sources: The New Orleans Pelicans are releasing forward Markieff Morris, who is currently dealing with an injury.

How classy. Or should I say, how Pelican-y.

Anyone else read Warriors were interested in Kanter? I can't remember where I read that. He was complaining about playing time in NY. How much time is he going to get on the Warriors?

Complaints about playing time can magically disappear overnight when playing on a team with a legitimate chance at a title... and they're the favorites.

I haven't read anything linking them to Kanter yet but did see a couple of mentions about Robin Lopez.

If we sign this guy, the only role i really see for him is @ the Center position, and some spot minutes at the PF if we are in foul trouble of something. Any update on his neck/back?

How about Jeremy Lin. I saw a report that ATL was unable to find a trade partner to take him and won't buy him out unless Lin requests them to. He isn't injured is he?

Michael Beasley is available. Former #2 pick. 40% from 3 last year. 42% the year before. Former Laker.

We're deep at guard with Bullock, Pope, Hart and Lance. We're deep at forward, with LeBron, Ingram and Kuzma as big minute guys and several players that can situationally play one of the two forward spots.

We could use another defensive wing with length, reserve point guard, and an injury reserve big man. Shooting would be nice too, but it would have to come in one of those wrappers to be someone who gets playing time, at least for the level of player that will be available in the buyout market. Only one roster spot though. So what's the priority.....

Basically, we need Washington to get on with it and waive Ariza.

Okay, thanks for the update. I haven't been following him.

I think it was according to Ramona, the Lakers are in no rush to use the open roster spot and will stay patient and see if any new options present themselves before the eligible for playoffs deadline.

I had previously thought about him so watched him play 1 game in the g league. He is sorely lacking in skills and showed poor athleticism/explosiveness. Could be his knee is causing him issues.

I haven't heard that he is injured now. With Lonzo's injury and Hart's knee affecting his play Lin would be a nice sub for both guard positions.

I think Lin would be a great option if Atlanta waived him. He has only missed like 4 games this year....so health and injury has not been an issue this year. His issue has been getting consistent minutes on a team in a total rebuild focused on developing a rookie PG.

Even if Ball is healthy.....him and Rondo have been injured so often this season, I would feel more comfortable going into the final stretch with 3 PG's.

fwiw, the last I heard, Atlanta is still claiming they have no intention on buying out any of their guys.

I think his knees just never allowed him to develop an NBA game...might be someone to invite to summer league next year.

I don't subscribe to The Athletic, but someone said in this article ATL said they dont plan to waive him unless Lin asks to be waived. So it's possible if he asks.

Lin & Lebron on the same team. Can you imagine the media hype? I like that Lin is great in the PnR and he also shoots well from 3.

Heard the Lakers are trying to decide between a big or a point guard.

off topic, but you mentioned Atlanta.....am I the only one that found it strange that the NBA went out of their way to include Dwade and Dirk in All Star weekend since they are retiring, but did not include Vince? I know DWade and Dirk have stronger resumes, but this is Carters final year, and he is a 1st Ballot HOF'er. Just thought they should have included him with Wade and Dirk.

If this is our lineup

McGee/Chandler
LBJ/Muscala/Wagner
Kuzma/Bullock
Ingram/KCP/Hart
Rondo/Stephenson/Ball (Injured)/Bonga

Looking at that we should probably aim for a big
Kanter and LBJ have a thing
Otherwise I’d suggest him
Great replacement for Zubac
And a scoring/rebounding machine

Kanter has defensive issues but he’s a great off the bench weapon
