Average to below average.

Worse than KCP?

Much better than Kuz, that's all we need.

Better than Kuz lol. Worse than KCP. Imagine a slightly smarter version of KCP who shoots a bit better and never steals the ball....that’s him.

I was talking about his defense, something Kuz does none off.

You had me at smarter version of KCP!
I dont care so much about man to man defense as I do about team defense.
If he's smart enough to just catch onto concepts and be able to rotate, I'll be happy. I can do w/o the off-ball steals that KCP used to do (not so much this year).

What really matters is his play vs Lance because that's who he's probably taking minutes from unless KCP gets traded.

You guys should read the reaction from Piston fans and Pistons media... they are completely depressed by the move to trade Bullock

I disagree. I think Lance is our backup PG until Zo gets back.
Unless Reggie can handle. Or unless we go the BI experiment again.

Yeah I would be too if I were a Piston fan. He's the guy you wanna keep if you want to make any serious run with Blake.

It’s good to make a trade that we are clearly the flat out winners, Magic and Pelinka get a A for the trade now let’s see what else they have up there sleeve.

Svi has been MEH.

2nd round picks can be bought.

Bullock shoots 39%..... we cant afford to miss playoffs. Good job Pelinka

great trade. I believe we fleeced them. Reggie B is gonna be our Ariza. Solid 3&D player and less minutes for Lance, Hart and Beasley.

Why does Rob get credit for good trades and magic gets slammed for bad moves?

Pelinka is the GM so I just said his name cause Im assuming he's dealing with the main guts of these trades. Not a Magic vs Pelinka thing for me lol

Being on the Lakers will fix that quickly. He’ll be down to 68 percent from the ft line in no time. I’m also wondering how low his 3 point percentage goes now that he’s on the team. The Lakers are where shooters go to die, if recent history is anything to judge things by.

Honestly, solid pick up. Not a huge fan of giving up Svi and a 2nd rounders for him, but Bullock is a pretty good player and he’s a good catch and shoot guy. He can contribute, while Svi was mostly just riding the bench.

Article prior to the trade

https://hoopshype.com/2019/02/03/reggie-bullock-los-angeles-lakers-detroit-pistons-nba-trade-rumors/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Quote:
Surrounding LeBron James with shooters is a smart strategy, so it is no surprise the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in Reggie Bullock.

The 6-foot-7 wing was a first-round pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. He has been a fixture in the starting lineup for the Detroit Pistons, averaging 30.7 minutes per night. But as the Pistons have plummeted away from playoff contention, contending teams have reached out about what it would take to pry him away from Detroit.

Haven't got to watch him play a whole lot tbh but as long as he stays close to his current numbers it's a solid trade for sure! I think Svi is going to be a good rotational player for awhile in the league but he is clearly still a year or two away if he does get to that point.

Is he at least competent defensively for people that have watched him?

To be honest, the deadline trades Maglinka have made in the past have proven to be good.

- We wanted LouWill off our books for the tank, we got a pick for him which turned out to be Josh Hart (or Kuzma, as DLo trade haters say haha)
- We got Clarkson’s contract and Nance, who has been given an overpay for his extension, for two expirings in IT and Frye, as well as a first (Wagner)
- Now this. Bullock can contribute as a shooter straight away, possibly even in a starting role, and gives us flexibility to move some other pieces

Bullock will contribute in a good way for us in the road to the playoffs. The small caphold helps if we want to keep him in the future, too
