Zo didn't foul Russ in the act, you're being intellectually dishonest to yourselves if you think otherwise.
You should be ashamed.
Embarrassing, Mr Mcgoo type of stuff here. |
While I agree with you that he wasn't in the act, Lonzo still made that way too close. There was just no reason to foul him that late. They should have fouled him when he was still 40 feet from the basket. The time was of no real consequence, at that point. Just take the foul. Don't make it close at all. |
I don't understand the strategy of fouling to prevent a 3 point shot. Players almost never make those panicked three pointers and even if they do, the worst case scenario is a tie game where you get the ball back for the final shot. |
Is it really fouling to prevent a three though? I thought it was more, make them pass it out with less time at halfcourt, because they didnt have any timeouts.
In theory the shot would be more rushed?
Im not even saying I disagree with you. |
Did they have a foul to give? I thought it was going to be free throws either way. |

Yeah but BI doesn’t need to score for us to win. PG does for OKC. I’ll take it. |
We could’ve had PG but Ingram is untouchable because hes the 2nd coming of KD |
lol keep crying then |

No foul to give. It was to make him shoot 2 free throws instead of being able to tie it with a three. |

Yup, exactly why any of the top teams wouldn't mind playing them in the playoffs imo.. Westbrook is going to look much more like this then letting George get the most shots in the playoffs I think and I don't believe he can string along 4 great shooting nights in a 7 game series. He might look amazing at times but he can completely suck the life out of that team as well. |

There are arguments for and against, but I am of the belief that you foul in that situation. But you can't cut it close. Commit to it and just take the foul, if that's the strategy, especially when there were only a few seconds left and they are out of timeouts. As soon as he got the pass around midcourt, take the foul. |
That's really the only way to do it. Even then, there's plenty of guys I'd be afraid to foul in that situation, Like Curry, Durant, Harden, Kobe, etc.
People constantly talking about fouling in this situation, yet coaches rarely ever tell their team to do it. There must be a reason why. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

He was literally in the act as Lonzo fouled him.

It's like Lonzo thought "so long as I foul him before he gets the shot off".

They really beat the odds in this one.
They overcame being down big, on the road, blown calls against a very good team with one of the top defenses. No Bron.
This could be a season changing game tbh. |

I was ready to come here and post that I wish we new the identity of this squad, it truly sucks when every game is a toss up, that there is no scheduled win laid in front of us.
I guess I was looking for something to grasp over if they lost this game. Built in excuses that the opponent is just better, they are still without the King, etc. Then I saw something that made me proud. I saw Luke finally get some accountability going and pull who wasn't working for a unit that just played hard.
Sure you could say the Thunder lost the game just as much as the Lakers won it, but I would like to think the hustle being shown on one side was the game changer.
Truly from the 2nd quarter on, one team was the aggressor and it's nice it was LA. Loved the intangibles Zu brought, loved the minutes the rookies got and the Hart hustle that seemed to be lacking recently.
Nice solid win that I hope they can build upon, I hope it helps their confidence...
Very nice effort, I just want effort. Try out there and they did...finally. |
