^^^^that just sounds weird to me.....do not recall a team being punished for playing against a team with an ineligible player.

Maybe no team has tried it before? Hypothetically, lets say a high school team agreed to an exhibition against the Rio Grande Vipers, would that cause a problem for them in their high school governing body?

yeah, I have no real knowledge about how that works....just my loose recollection includes penalties against teams that played ineligible players, but never their opponents as far as I know.

If Lamelo plays well in High School, goes to the G-League and continues to play well, a team will take a chance on him. All he's got to do really is stay out of trouble. Talent's all there.

You forgot one important part ....

Intelligence. I have yet to see that part.
if you havent seen basketball IQ with lamelo. than you dont know what basketball iq is. You dont make some of those passes he makes just cause. that takes a certain kind of hoop iQ to know where the guy is going to be and when to let off the pass with how much velocity to get it to your teammate in traffic. he is becoming a better and better passer as time goes by. he was once a hot dog who could dribble and pass but didnt like passing that much to becoming a scorer who can pass well. he's basically a high school version of james harden in the mda system. that takes IQ to pull that off.

I can't see the Lakers wanting to increase their participation in the Ball Family Circus for a questionable prospect.

Spire win yet again to increase their record to 12-0 on the season, beating West Oaks Academy by a score of 86-77 in a game that was very close until the very end. LaMelo Ball had 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Again, Lamelo has the most potential out of that family.

For as people go on about the "Ball Family Circus"

The only real circus was what Liangelo did.

LaVar already did what he did to get his son's where they are, it's up to them at this point which is why you don't hear him needing to big up Lonzo, etc anymore and he's been relatively low-key.

He knew the game, played the character well, and now his son's are household names.

What they do with that is up to them, and Lamelo is going about it the way he's supposed to, just balling it out in high school, and then to G-League, if he shows out there, he'll make the league.

You look at his change in mentality as he's gotten older and his game has evolved more. He's becoming more a combo, as opposed to a 2 in a 1's body, but he's also grown to about 6'6 and will probably wind up 6'7-6'8 anyway. Either way, if he keeps on progressing and keeps his head out of the clouds and stays healthy, he'll have quite the basketball future ahead of him.

here's some stuff about Liangelo as well:

i have not followed his games but the article itself says the team he is on plays a very similiar style to the Lavar coached baller teams with lots of gunslinging and uptempo play. At face value that makes me skeptical of how much of his game has really matured

it's matured loads actually. He plays more like Lonzo now than he did when he was 14, which is pretty understandable. He plays a much more mature game now than he used to. He's also starting to flash some of that elite athleticism that Zo was known for, and he's grown to be about 6'7.

here's what I mean by him starting to grow into that athleticism.

him and Zo were working out late night at the Lakers practice facility, and this happened.

what happened to Gelo. See zero news on him. He was always a long shot to make it to the NBA (which pretty much sailed after the whole China incident and Lavar pulling out of UCLA) but seems like his best course would be to try to latch on to as good a European basketball team that would take him and just work very hard to make a name for himself without Lavar trying to interject.

Trying to make the G-League. What happened in China really damaged his chances or rather threw them off tremendously. Still shows a lot of talent and ability, and a G-League team should take a chance on him. It's gonna be a rougher journey for him though.

Wasn’t going to get minutes at UCLA, can’t even make it to the G league. Plus all the baggage that comes with him? Gelo has about a good of shot of making it to the NBA as you or I.

He's going to be a player. 6'7. Getting some NBA athleticism. Just needs to fix the decision-making.
