Yup, you could only say that if you would have felt comfortable with your daughters hiking/camping/backpacking like that.

Those girls were targeted/stalked. They were extremely vulnerable - 2 girls alone in a remote area.

Let's not victim blame.

Reminds me of an American couple who biked across the world. There was a yuge NYT article about their lives/beliefs/fates. Read the whole thing. On 7/29/18, they were in Tajikistan when a pack of uglies in a car, professing allegiance to ISIS, ran over a group of riders including the couple, killing them both and two other riders. After ramming them, they attacked the victims with axes and knives. They spotted them, knew they were Westerners (latex shorts in Tajikistan? cmon) and rammed them. Half the comments supported them living life, life itself contains risk, etc. Other half were wtf were they in Tajikistan? I'm more the latter. You're just asking to be a target in that part of the world, so you'd better at least realize that if you do go.

Most of the people you meet in one of those countries may be nice/humble/poor-but-giving, but it's the terrorists, maaan. It's sad, but ever so true (to quote Horry, "You betta read da papa uh somethin..."). The pyramid sites in Egypt haven't even been fatwa proofed. A group of Westerners were killed in a bombing by a terrorist in one of them and iirc that was pre 9/11. Parts of the old world are great if not for the terrorist uglies. And you just know most of them need a louse comb just by looking at them.

That said, Murica and Mexico aren't too safe in some places either. There are a lot of places around the world that need good guys with guns.

This crime that has been has no relationship with the arabs or islam, there are countries that are also very dangerous like mexico and Egypt .
The problem that there is a very big, between the countries, and Morocco is very dangerous for the tourists

Thank you emililadjet for your first hand account from right there where it happened

Yes, we have plenty of places in America
where nobody would be dumb enough to camp overnight
Unless they had no other choice

Sadly, I am in agreement the CIA is involved in terrorist training and even committing
Their own terrorism for political gain .. blaming someone else

https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/reagan-gives-cia-authority-to-establish-the-contras

And

Quote:
This drama of collective denial was played out again recently when a CIA guerrilla-training manual became public. It spelled out the tactics our government is sponsoring in its not very secret war against the government of Nicaragua. The manual recommends, among other things, the assassination of public officials, selective terrorist killings of peasants, kidnapping, the employment of professional criminals for special "jobs" and clandestine agitation that will provoke "a fury of justified violence."

Hello ContagiousInspiration,
Thank you for your message, I am 17 km away of place were the two tourists killed, everyone here is sad, it's a shame that happens in Morocco, but what can I say that the Morocco is not safe for tourists.

Thanks for the links, I think the terorist has been Manupiler by the CIA, do not forget that the CIA has created al qaida in afghanistan

Legit info right from military websites
How the US firebombed clerics homes to incite
More violence and blame it on others
And other terrorist violence

And we in the West point and label others as enemy

Let's not victim blame.
what like they victim blamed that guy that got killed by the remote tribe?

is this the exact same thing? nope. but are their similarities? sure. women hiking alone aint safe no matter where you go. sure sometimes you come out alive. which is great. but it still aint safe. i wish it were so people wouldnt have to think about that type of stuff, but we all know thats not the safest thing to do. and yet they are still victims. because they didnt go asking to be harmed. they went as someone said to "enjoy life".

I think if they were men, they would've been killed as well. No doubt about it. If they beheaded women, which is a new one for jihad-types as far as I know. I've seen a woman get beheaded by the Zeta cartel in Mexico, but in that part of the world, women are traditionally murdered by stoning or some other means. If they did that to two defenseless young girls, had they been men, you're talking slam dunk.

The unfortunate truth about life is that men are too dangerous for young women to venture out alone, even if it didn't matter their sex in the case above. Look at the girl in Kansas who was jogging alone and a random nutjob spots her, just has to go up and annoy her, then he claims he blacked out at her response and killed her. Look at Chandra Levy. Same thing, lone female victim.

I watch Forensic Files epis, probably seen the entire series and there are MANY stories like that from the UNITED STATES, much less Morocco. That says more about a chink in the armor of women's rights to be just as independent as men. In this world? Young ladies need to be made wary by their loved ones about their surroundings and their personal safety at all times. They need to be told stories like this and to hopefully become more jaded and less naive about the nature of men and the hostility towards women even in supposed "first world" countries. I recall a teen girl getting abducted by gunpoint at her mailbox and raped/murdered. The creep even taunted the family of her whearabouts. There was one of a guy abducting an early 20s girl who worked as a clerk at a barren gas station at 3AM and took her out with a gun and raped/killed her. No cameras at the place, no co-worker. Another girl that he harassed and targeted just hours before at another gas station called the cops on him and recalled his license plate. After that foiled attempt, he found the sitting duck he was looking for. After her death, she was burned up in a fire pit, identified by a single tooth. There was one where a guy was bumping his car into lone women drivers on a certain desolate road and when one of them finally got out, she was abducted/raped/killed. 20 yr old college student. That kind of thing happens in this country, not to mention other countries, more often than most people could fathom. Young women are the predominant victims in said type of shows. The male Homo sapien sadly harbors a great deal of vicious creeps and killers in numbers far greater than women and their crimes are often driven by sexual deviance. CNN just aired a docu about Ted Bundy. Good Lord. He was a grim reaper for young women.

Kind of like the guy who was “helping” asylum seekers and took the time to tell us they were a “mob” when they got gassed at the border...

I thought no personal attacks allowed around here. Is this thread turning into a witch hunt now?

No, you burn witches after dunking them in water. Clearly not behaeading after camping.

How about if you want to moderate, you find a place to let you do that. This ain’t it.

Nope. I thought the rules were no personal attacks. Seems like a poster's being called out for no reason. No other poster in this thread has been called out except one. What one poster did some time ago has nothing to do with another poster. That's a personal attack. Now that we've verified the IP address, maybe we can get back on topic.

You make a comment once, it sounds like a poster making a helpful suggestion. You take another shot it looks like you’re looking for trouble. When you respond to a request from an actual mod to drop the issue, and your first word is nope, we get to the drop me a PM if you’d like to discuss this further territory. And that’s as nice as I can or will be.

Not made by CIA. They came to fight with the mujahadeen, and the CIA armed them to fight Russians. When the Russians left, some of them moved on to fight their former allies of necessity.

Much less a personal attack than a cynicism of the likelihood that someone who lives a couple of CVS receipts away from the site of an international powder keg would register an account to discuss it in a foreign language on a Lakers forum.

If the guy is genuine, none of what I've said matters and I would happily apologize and retract.

emililadjet, how did you find this thread?

Hola Huey Lewis & The News / LongBeachPoly

I am not inconspicuous
I am journalist from Spain and I came to Marrakesh to spend the holidays of the end of the year, I was not far from the crime scene, I am really sad about what happened, and I want to share with you my experience
