Menendez brothers appear in background of Mark Jackson basketball card
Quote:
Mark Jackson's 1990 basketball card is a largely uninteresting piece of memorabilia. Or at least it was until Reddit user Pirate-Redbeard discovered that the Menendez brothers -- who infamously were convicted of murdering their parents in 1989 -- appear to be sitting in the background of the card.
To make things crazier, the card's photo feasibly would have been taken between the date of the murders (Aug. 20, 1989) and the time they were arrested on March 8, 1990.
There's a couple funny bits about them in the book "The Black Hand" according to Rene Enriquez (former top Mex Mafia member). The brothers were separated until recently. Lyle was locked up with various MM members at CIM in Chino. He went right into a pit of vipers. Enriquez gave the image that he was relatively liked (their crime wasn't a prison no-no) by the others. However, there were times when Lyle was rightfully scared. Once he promised to stash and deliver (iirc) one of the MM members with a bunch of candy bars from the prison canteen. For some reason, he wasn't able to give the candy bars to the guy on that specific day, and he (Lyle) thought he was going to get shanked over candy bars. He got himself put into protective custody, to the gangsters' laughter. Lyle was also obsessed with his receding hair and for awhile he wore a bad toupee and the gangsters were telling him he should just cut his hair off. Enrinquez said the only time Lyle stood up to the correctional officers is when one of them took his toupee as contraband.
Btw, they were recently placed into the same housing unit at the same prison. They tearfully embraced. First time they've seen each other in 22 years per wiki. They're together now for a family Christmas. Awww. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!
