Just reviewing the Denver game lowlights and a few key issues jumped out.

Screens: Denver sets a lot of them at the top of the key to initiate their offense. They create imbalances for cutters or enough space for a shooter to raise up for a good look. Conversely, Lakers tend to play iso ball.

Motion: Lakers are good on fast breaks but in half court they don't seem to have a lot of teamwork plays. Denver on the other hand is constantly running curls and cuts, effectively confusing our Defense.

Confusion: there are far too many examples of guys not even knowing who they are supposed to guard, especially off those high screens and in fast breaks. Many times there were two Lakers on one Nugget. They are constantly in the wrong position to properly defend.

Eyes: Lakers tend to all be focused on the ball handler and thus easily lose their assignment on back cuts and motion plays.

Overall, they look like a high school team on defense. I honestly don't know how they can call themselves professionals the way they defended Denver.

Remember when Luke was getting praise for his defense last year....

Fools gold. We rarely get stops unless it's McGee at the rim, we don't force 24 second violations, our defense is pretty much, pretty please, can you miss this open jumper?

If the opposing team has a center who can hit from three it’s a problem for us. Once our bigs have to move to the perimeter the inside becomes a free for all, and we struggle to box out and rebound. No rebounds, no rings.

This is a point many overlook. I can’t understand why.

They looked very exhausted for some reasons. I think that’s the reason why we were exceptionally terrible this game

Ingram guarding 2's just doesn't work. Whenever there's a high pick n roll, he's always chasing the 2 from behind. The 2 gets into the lane and either shoots, lobs or has a 2 on 1 with the screener. Ingram never fights through the pick and never switches to the screener who rolls to the basket. It's a disaster. For this reason alone Hart should start.
