Yup. Too high level wrestling for blackbeast. I actually think Lewis could beat dc standing, but obviously dc way too smart to fall for something like that.

And JB Stylebender could be the next McGregor in terms of fight entertainment value. Dude has unreal movement and timing

Cormier is a trip. I know it is methodical game plan and pacing but he seemed like a fighter similar to Silva. When I watched Silva I saw a Master who knew how lethal his skills were and in knowing that he tried not to brutalize anyone more than necessary. Cormier last night seemed to shy away from hitting his opponent in the face as though he just didn't want to have to hurt him that way.

Even seemed like he could have finished it in the 1st but gave the fans another round. <<am I delusional?

I don't think you are. Clearly he didn't want to hurt Derrick. That was him going at about 50% I think

DC against The Black Beast was like Money Mayweather, “Point to the easy work!”

My UFC event hookup site only got the main event and the Stylebender fight so I didn’t get to see Weidman or Branch. It’s interesting because it looks like the division has passed both Weidman and Rockhold in record time but they’re getting beat by older dudes. Crazy.

Askren vs Robbie Lawler booked

If this was 3 years ago I'd be loving this matchup but Lawler is coming off ACL surgery and was looking washed up before that. Askren should be able to wreslte (bleep) him for a decision W even though I'm hoping he uppercuts Askren's goofy Llama head into space.

LMAO!!!

Askren has some of the worst standup I’ve ever seen. Although I haven’t watched many of his fights, he also has a very weird ground and pound game. He definitely knows how to get you down and keep you there. He’s got that old fashioned, unreal natural strength and density.

Yeah I'm with you on this one, Lawler's chance in the fight will be to make it scrappy as possible. Not sure he's quick enough to make Askren overly wary of coming for takedowns now though.

Still think Lawler v Condit is one of my favorite ever fights, and yeah I'd like to see Askren get shut up in brutal fashion.

According to Anthony Pettis Askren is better than Woodley. So I'm interested to see if the hype is legit

He's a better grappler but offers 0 striking threat. Like almost CM Punk level on the feet offensively. His defensive striking is decent.

Askren will have a very tough time against guys with great TDD and solid striking: Wonderboy, Usman, RDA, Woodley, maybe Till. Another interesting matchup is Damien Maia. He's lost 3 in a row to grapplers that were too scared to take him down and just out worked him standing.

Would love to see him vs Maia! Unfortunately Maia’s not a draw outside of Brazil

Mike Perry what the eff?

Dude barely threw anything and then gets arm barred by Cowboy???

I’m sure she’s a nice person and all but Raquel Pennington is not very good. Even worse, what is her management thinking? She played the part of heavy bag to the Lioness in a brutal beatdown that they could have and most certainly should have stopped for sheee mercy but instead encouraged her to take more brain damage inflicting brute force trauma and after all that, they decide her next move should be to go up a weight class and face a long, skilled striker in Darandamie? Raquel is short and has minimal reach. The extra weight made her slower and she’s not a quick fighter to begin with. She was jiggly and plodding and badly outclassed. It was a sad watch. I think their camp thinks showing will and belief by walking through strikes is all that’s needed to win a fight and become champ.

oh she moved up a class?! No wonder she had a huge gut!! That literally stood out to me and I was wondering why she was so out of shape. Makes perfect sense now.

EDIT:

I was dead wrong. That fight was at welterweight. My bad. Sorry man. I guess that gut was all organic. Let’s just say Pennington doesn’t carry her extra rolls like Dern.
