Damn! Per Woj’s twitter:

Story posting soon: The Houston Rockets are making a renewed bid to acquire Minnesota All-Star Jimmy Butler, including four future first-round draft picks in their most recent trade offer, league sources tell ESPN.

if I was Minny.....I take the deal before they change their mind. Houston still is not winning a title this year.....and with 4 missing future 1st Round picks and strapped to an aging CP3.....

The hanging point may be the protections and the contracts HOU wants to send over to MIN.

If HOU doesn't heavily lotto protect them, while also not sending out horrible long-term contracts, MIN will probably (and should) accept.

Wouldn't be shocked if MIN will try to get out from under the contract to Dieng.

How can they trade four picks when you can’t trade picks in consecutive years?

You can trade picks up to 7 years in the future.

So their offer is their first round picks in 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025.

So if the Rockets made this trade, it's possible that Butler could be retired before all the picks were cashed in.

That must be one of the most desperate moves in a long time. At least they figuered out in time that they can't win like this.

They are truly out of their minds if they don't take that.

I'm guessing Thibs thinks he won't be around to use all of those picks so he wants something that can help him win now and save his job.

That makes sense. A pick in 7 years has no value if you think someone else will have your job.

That's like politicians who pass budgets that have ridiculous deficits. Won't hurt them now but the later generations...

I think you can answer that question if you think about it a little more.

since they are trying to off load brandon knight's toxic contract in the deal this offer is no where near as good as advertised and I wouldnt blame the Wolves for wanting a bit more

Not Butler, but KAT in 2020.

How is Carmelo going to get his shots if they pick up Jimmy Butler?

Melo is 34yo, on a one year low cost deal, and shooting under 42%. He's the last dog at the bowl to eat whether he likes it or not. He'll still have his Melo Moments throughout the season where he catches fire and they feed him more.
If he can't deal with that he's the easiest one to get rid of.

He acts like he thinks he is still 24 so I was poking fun at him. With Butler on the team they would be better off without him IMO.

I'd love it for the Wolves to reunite with Love and let Butler play in Cleveland. LOL!

Management might have some hard decisions to think about. Trade away their future for Butler? Or is the Rockets horrible start just an indication that it might be time to rebuild and they will need to keep those picks.

rockets are fine. their only worry is wondering if they are good enough to beat the warriors. everything else is fine. they have talent, they'll fix it soon. It's all easily fixable.

This is becoming one of the weirder situations in the NBA in the modern era.

Butler seems like a Diva beyond belief, I am not maxing this joker if I am a NBA GM.

Is Carmelo talented though? He plays defense like an 80 year old man. This article hammers him:
