I didn't say they were second best. I think they might be as high as third best in the league, but I'm responding more to a poster or two in this thread who are using a flawed survey as confirmation bias that the Lakers yutes are overrated rather than the flawed survey itself. _________________ Under New Management |

Agreed. And some are underrated here by some posters, as well. _________________ Under New Management |

I would trade our young core for the young core of Boston, Philly, and Phoenix. |

No, you're wrong. |
What a sound and logical counterargument.
If Lonzo wasn't wearing a Laker jersey I guarantee you wouldn't have the same viewpoint. |
Markkanen is a good prospect but not close to Ball as a player. |
Keep in mind that Chicago only got 2 votes.
So all this means is a couple of the 30 GMs are hot and heavy about Markkanen.
It's quite possible that if the GMs were ask to list their top 5 teams, rather than just vote for 1, the list after 1 and 2 would be different.
All I take from this survey is the 76ers and Celtics have the best young core, Everyone else just got 1 or 2 votes, which doesn't mean much |

Definitely better than the Suns, a close tie with Boston. The only one with a slight edge is Phily |

I like our young core (liked 'em more with Randle than without too.)
Are they a powerhouse ? Maybe, maybe not but in three years we'll know.
I offer that if one were to add LeBron to Chicago or Denver or Phoenix or Utah rather than to our Los Angeles Lakers, we'd see that any one of those teams would finish this season within a +/- two game range of where our team will finish with LeBron James. It speaks to LJ's impact and to the relatively level potential among those young teams, given one of the league's two or three top players, including ourselves.
Just sayin': we don't have a young core that is markedly higher potential (~ stronger) than several others not named Boston or Milwaukee. |

Ayton and Booker are going to be long-term good stats/bad team guys if not paired with better talents. _________________ Under New Management |

Phoenix would be something similar to Minnesota South? |

That's what it looks like to me. KAT>Ayton and Booker>Wiggins, but the net effect of two high usage scorers who are indifferent to bad on defense adds up to a similarly low team ceiling because both duos compound each respective player's bad habits.
The Suns should pick one of Ayton or Booker pretty soon and the Wolves need to find a sucker to take on Wiggins. _________________ Under New Management |

Easy to understand being shunned here.
I'm dissapointed however because it highlights..maybe, the value of the core beyond Lakernation.
If we offered BI for Buddy right now would the Kings bite?
How about Zo for Fox?
Our youngins are good but they're a tier below others. |
