Hey all,

My latest at @BleacherReport Lakers 'Eager to See Our Version of the Death Lineup' with LeBron at Center and is there a significant connection between Jeff Ayres and Kawhi Leonard? https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2786547-lakers-eager-to-see-our-version-of-the-death-lineup-with-lebron-at-center

Cheers,

EP

"Death Lineup"

Can't we just call it our best lineup or our 4th quarter lineup? Why do we have to steal Golden State's nickname? It's not even a good nickname!

Whatever executive thinks they won’t make the playoffs needs to be fired immediately. He may be doing a great job with his own squad but that’s about as idiotic of a statement as I’ve ever heard from anybody with a bit of basketball knowledge.

Who was the WC executive that thought we'd miss the playoffs? Popovich or Morey?

If it were Pop, I'd list him as a western conference head coach, lol - no it's not Daryl

Interested in the Deng update:
Quote:
The executive said Deng is all but semi-retired. He may never play again in the NBA unless he has a change of heart.

Any chance Deng and the Lakers pursue medical retirement in October? Feels unlikely since I don't know of any qualifying medical condition and I assumed he would still want to play after the current contract. But if medical retirement is a viable option and Deng is seriously considering not playing again in the NBA, could be a good way to step away without losing any money.

I'm pretty sure there are a few people on this messageboard that could find a "qualifying medical condition..."

I think it's pretty safe to say he's older than stated.

I wonder if Lebron can convince the FO to play Deng. They did have many playoff battles after all.

Deng didn't play last season per his own choice. Luke wanted to use him in Brewer's role (spot/situational minutes every once in awhile) but Deng told him he’d rather not play at all than accept that kind of role.

Magic needs to get him alone in the room ...maybe bring in Lance or Beasley to help with the persuasion...wait a minute, now I know why we are paying Lance $4.3 million!

yeah this dont sound right. A player like Deng has 0 pull. I dont see the Lakers letting him get his way. The Lakers most lilkely didnt want him playing and taking minutes from developing players.

I think I prefer the lineup in my sig in theory. Kcp over kuzma for defensive purposes... which also leads to offense
