Why don't we rehire Jerry West. If any one can rebuild a team and create a supporting cast for LJ wouldn't it be him?

Was there a falling out with him and the organization?

Because no one care about them old timers anymore. Not to be disrespectful but the millennial players nowadays don’t give a rats ass about someone played in the league almost 50 years ago. This is why the Magic Pelinka hire was awesome, both them know how to get today’s players attention, what really drives them. Certainly not the respect for history I can tell you this. Same principle apply for Phil Jackson, that’s why he’s unemployed.

but he doesn't need to be in the players face as an advisor. Look at the teams his built up after leaving the Lakers.

Who's crying, cause im not. After seeing an earlier post about him on the LakersLounge, Im just curious why he's no longer on the board. I'm taking it you agree with all the acquisitions done after LJ.

The Grizzlies? Where r they now? The Warriors? They were already title contenders before he arrived, he was more of a figurative person in GS front office.

I think some of it is Magic and Pelinka wanting to do it on their own and getting all of the credit. As a fan, sure you want the best talents possible running your team but as a person, don't you want the greatest sense of achievement in your profession? Anyways, West is getting up there in age I'm not sure how much more he can help us.

Thats what I read but I was wondering why. Don't they have a great relationship? Or has Jerry fell off as far as having an eye for talent?

Bill Bertka is still with the team though.

We got the best player in the world and a bunch of vets. I really like the Rondo signing. I have nothing to complain about. I don't think any Laker fan should really have anything to complain about after the off season we've had.

Because, Like Phil Jackson, the game has passed him by. Look at what’s happened in his time with the Clippers, went from a borderline championship team to a team that next season will be a bottom 5 team with no assets to build around. Hard pass.

And lose Paul, trade Griffin, lose Jordan, yeah Jerry's advice is assuring the Clippers of a high Lottery pick the next few seasons...!

Man the Clippers got a really crap return for Paul. Not sure if they could have helped it. Bunch of role players (some of which are absolute bums) and a late 1st round pick. Got a decent haul for Griffin tho.

But as they say, the grass is always greener

Now the truth laughs at you. (Hint, the Warriors weren’t contenders when he arrived).

Yeah but not a significant role I assume. That’s just Jeannie Buss’ mom and pop business mentality.

lol I just looked up his age. He's turning 91 next year! You Go Bill!!!

How bad/tough would it be to have West as an advisor? Or is that a million dollar contract just to bring him on?

From Durant’s own words. But you obviously know little about West.
