Sign DeMarcus Cousins? (Nope. Golden State for 1 yr, $5.3 million. For the love of god. pg 27)

I think the Lakers got the better deal. Sorry, but I don't believe in Boogie until I see him play post Achilles. Actually, I never believed in that headcase even before the Achilles.

GSW just wasted $5.4M IMO.

The Lakers are paying Rondo nearly double what Boogie got

Boogie is getting 0.8 mil more than Lance Stephenson

God, its obviously a one year make good deal. No need to panic!

Warriors cannot keep everyone next year with Klay and potentially Durant as free agents.

Also Cousins is not going to settle for a single digit million salary long term. Cousins is not getting the contract he wanted from New Orleans, and need to show the league he can still play.

If no one is offering him major money at the moment, why not be a short term ring chaser? It's better than earning - for him - peanuts and being on a non-contending team.

I'm glad that Golden State got DeMarcus, instead of us. Achilles Heel injuries are devastating, and the big question surrounding Boogie was when is he going to be healthy enough to play, and did the injury take anything away from his game. The Warriors have the luxury to gamble on Boogie, realizing that he'd only play half a season, at best.

The Lakers don't have that type of luxury, so this works out for both sides. This will certainly be an interesting upcoming season!

Isn't Boogie supposed to be out for half the season? Warriors can afford the luxury of him riding the pine, we don't have enough talent to do that. If we sign him, we'll be a man short.

Not the front office's fault that guys are willing to take discounts to play on other teams.

YES.
Hes the only option left. We pulled the trigger way too early on our previous signings.

Not gonna lie. This one hurts. Punting this year and waiting for Kawhi just became a no-brainer.

Beat us at our own game.
Yup. They got the juice now. After Lebron our signings have been awful.

The upcoming season is all about Lebron teaching our young guys how to win (I'm predicting about 50 games) and getting some playoff experience (we'll probably face one of the heavyweights in the first round). We won't have our true contending team until after free agency next summer.

I thought guys were supposed to take discounts to play with LeBron and for the Lakers. Vets certainly have done it for most of LeBron's career

Zubac can do it. Roll with Zu. He will surprise alongside King and Rondo.

I'm all for that. Keep BI and Kuz and get our next max player/#2 guy for Lebron next summer.

As I said, he is a one year rental for all teams. But you just can't stop from being amazed by the line up GSW put up with Boogie on the team. On paper it has to be the best team of all time.

If we punt this year, we only have room for 1 max guy right next summer right?
Is it better to trade for kawhi this year, and have another near max slot next summer?

Indirectly we helped the Warriors to get Cousins. Pelicans were probably prepared to pay cousins but saw Randle became available so grab Randle instead. Meanwhile we had more than 10 million to offer Cousins but we decided to give 9 million to Rondo.

The 86-87 Lakers beg to differ.
