The property that use to be sears nearby which has basically sat abandoned for 8 years was sold last year for over 40 mil to the CIM group who want to build apartments and retail stores there. Apparently they are running into issues with the same la mirada avenue neighborhood association a holes.

Looks pretty swanky and it'll create jobs but I do wonder what kind of impact it's going to after the thrill of newness begins to wane.

Outside a Laker game, two cops shut one down and proceeded to tell me that I wouldn't want to know the type of stuff they've found in those carts and dogs.

I'd bet it's nothing worse than anything you can regularly find in a restaurant.

Nuh-uh. Restaurants are pinched by the health dept. if their freezers are 2 degrees too warm or if their sinks are too small.

They're called "danger dogs" for a reason.

Has anyone here been to the Westfield Century City lately? That might be the nicest damned mall I've ever seen. It was already very nice, and the recent renovations have made it stunning...this is coming from someone who was never a fan of malls.

And the eye candy?

10/10 whole foods quality

They also just opened the only Eataly on the west coast. amazing.

Are they the same vendors that go around all the major events? I see the same hot dog carts outside of games at Staples and events at the Rose Bowl.

Good question, I've never noticed because I try not to look down at their faces.

It’s been a nasty 48 hours here in Ventura, thank goodness I chose to live near the beach and not the foothills.

Good to hear you're away from afflicted areas. Stay safe.

Btw everyone's phones just lit up with that emergency high wind warning. It's going to be rough for the next day all across the southland.

Thats where the biggest fire is and last I heard was 0% containment since they couldn't get much aircraft up there because of the high winds.

They evacuated people to the fairgrounds and have actually received more donations than they need. A bunch of LA Ram players were there yesterday handing stuff out. Class act LA Rams.

We live very close, so we go there a lot for movies and occasional shopping. The last two years of construction have been a pain in the ass, but I was blown away by what came of it. It's a much more functional and attractive place and the food and beverage options are far above what they previously were.
