I think this game will have a great impact on the young guys. What does it take to win, what it is to go beyond your limits, give your all, let it all on the court. The saw what it looks like.

Exactly. They will be forever changed. The have witnessed excellence.

You could see it in their eyes and during their interviews.

You could also see it in the way they actually hustled defensively and looked like a team in the 4th Qt last night.

What a human being, let alone an athelete.....

Kobe's work ethics, hard work, dedication has inspired myself and my kids.

I know I'm literally 24 hours late posting this but damn it's just been a dream ever since that final buzzer rang.

Kobe is officially a retired NBA legend.

I've been reminiscing on all the great Mamba videos and articles through social media the whole day. Just seriously a big celebration more so over being sad. This guy bled purple and gold even before he was drafted. This guy played through countless of injuries were as he should of just been on ice. This guy played his heart out especially after the fallout of Shaq every single damn night until he brought the championship back to Los Angeles. There will never be another Kobe Bryant. Fact!

Thank you for 20 years of excellence. Thank You for the 5 World Titles you brought to Los Angeles. Thank you for your heart and dedication in being the most competitive driven professional athlete I've ever witnessed on a nightly basis. Thank You for being a true Laker Lifer.
Thank You Kobe.

Drove from San Jose, CA Wednesday morning got to staples around 3 attended the festivities outside of staples and the energy was epic! Waited in line to get inside staples for a good 45 mins. I had no idea what I was gonna be in store for.

Pregame buzz and magic speech was chilling. The video tributes on the jumbo tron got me emotional for sure. I was thinking what else can top this??

Then Kobe bean Bryant happened...

By far the best laker road trip I ever did. This is one of the games that I'll remember forever. Had to drive back to Bay Area for work right after the game at 11:30pm, got to work just in time for 8am meeting, zero sleep and it was All worth it.

Thank bean for representing that golden armor with class, heart and determination. i watched you for 20 years, 3/4 of my life and it's been truly an honor. You'll always be my fav laker. Im gonna miss you man but I'm happy was able to witness greatness for 20 years and it's something I can tell my grandkids one day.

#thankyoukobe

But one thing that's sad is that his parents weren't there. Seems like they still haven't made up.

Damn, really? This has been confirmed?
At their age it could be something health related or anything, but I thought they had made up when Jelly Bean was coaching the Sparks teams ...

Really sad if they didn't make it because they are still on the outs. Hope that's not the case for KB, he deserved to have his parents see his last game.

Not confirmed, I don't know. Just my assumption based on watching the whole coverage. Vanessa, the kids, her relatives all got some mention and camera shots. If Kobe's parents were there, surely they would have been mentioned and at least have one camera shot.

Ice Cube Wants To Make A Movie About Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant

Quote:
n an interview with Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez via The Breakfast Club Youtube Page, Cube revealed that he has an idea for a Kobe Bryant movie. Cube noted that the idea is strictly in his head for the time being and there is no script, but he does have an idea as to who would play the lead role.

After watching that game more than once, my favorite non-Kobe moment was watching the admiration on Julius Randle's face after the 51 layup and after the last assist. You go through the whole season and the young guys had to feel like a lot of the season was overshadowed by Kobe, but seeing that, you can tell that he was so proud to be part of the whole thing.

repost from another thread. My experience

Was there too. I arrived 2 hours early parked far away from usual spot but buzz was in the air. Helicopters all over as I walked towards Staples. Every game break had well filmed statements from sports stars and celebrities. Great Kobe commercials. I teared a little watching Kobe Make a wish video segment on just how he has impacted these sick patients.
I shared a make a wish patient with Kobe in Las Vegas so it touched my heart.

I was on the night before on a terminal patient and Kobe came in the next day on a surprise visit. My wife also a doc got to hang with Kobe and our patient for 1.5 hours. She said he was super nice. Genuine, spoke great Spanish. He gave the teen a bunch of stuff even his own personal sunglasses.

Back to the night. I thought I'd cry some towards the end but the game was just so incredible. We were down 11 with about 3 min left!! With mamba mode in place no one was sad to see him go, but super hyped about the spectacle.
I couldn't sleep till 3 am watching the game and reading all about last night.

The fan fest was nuts too it felt like we had just won a championship!
