Not all NBA fans are from the US....so I can understand if a lot of Lin fans are from China, Taiwan, etc....they have zero attachment to any cities or NBA teams and probably follow their player. Don't forget a lot of fans followed Kobe in China just because of his accomplishments not to mention his style of play.

Yeah there are very few players across sports who have a fanbase like this. Kobe obviously does, we all remember the fans who were rooting for him to go to the Clippers or Chicago and were prepared to take their fandom there because they just wanted what was best for him. Tiger Woods has it but it's different because it's an individual sport. Brett Favre had it. Even Allen Iverson had it but to a much lesser degree.

I kind of feel bad for Jeremy because I think he just wants to fit in and be seen as a regular NBA player. From what he has said, I don't think he likes getting extra attention for being Asian American or for people to value his efforts over the rest of the team.
