The Denver Nuggets outscored the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets 32-20 in the second quarter en route to a 99-80 victory. The Hornets had a one point advantage (23-22) after the first quarter before the Nuggets took control in the second quarter.
Yokhouba Diawara paced four Nuggets in double figures with 19 points (6-10 FG), while John Gilchrist added 16 points (6-7 FG) and six rebounds. Ralphie Holmes chipped in 15 points (5-8 FG) and Casey Jacobsen had 10 points (3-10 FG).
Marcus Fizer led the way for the Hornets, scoring 13 points (4-15 FG, 5-8 FT) in 27 minutes of play. Kirk Snyder (2-8 FG, 7-10 FT) and Ezra Williams (5-5 FG) had 11 points a piece, while Omar Cook (5-7 FG) and Cedric Simmons (4-7 FG) added 10 points each.
Denver finished the game shooting 45 percent (32-71 FG), while New Orleans/Oklahoma City finished at the same clip (29-64 FG). The Nuggets had a 47-33 advantage on the boards and had nine more points on the free throw line (29-20).
The Nuggets take on the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday at 2 p.m., while the Hornets battle the Washington Wizards Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
News and Notes: Hornets rookie big man Hilton Armstrong did not play in the game due to a left groin sprain, he is listed as day-to-day. Nuggets players Kenyon Martin and DerMarr Johnson sat courtside during the game, while former University of Oklahoma Head Coach and current Indiana University Head Coach Kelvin Sampson sat with Hornet coaches Byron Scott and Darrell Walker.

Kevin Martins driving lay-up with 4:02 left gave the Sacramento Kings a 75-74 lead, one they would not relinquish as they went on to beat the Toronto Raptors, 86-79. Martin finished with a game-high 27 points (3-8 FG, 20-24 FT).
Rookie Quincy Douby contributed 20 points (6-10 FG, 6-6 FT), while Ronnie Price had 14 points (3-13 FG, 7-8 FT) in the win. The Kings finished the game shooting 41 percent (21-51 FG).
Joey Graham led the Raptors with 14 points (4-9 FG, 5-5 FT), while first overall pick Andrea Bargnani pitched in with 12 points. Bargnani also became the first player to foul out in a summer league game as he collected his 10th foul with 1:24 left in the game. Kris Humphries had 11 points (4-14 FG) and 10 rebounds, while Terence Dials collected 10 points (5-8 FG).
The Raptors finished the game shooting 40 percent (30-76 FG) and were outscored by 26 points (14-40) from the free throw line.
Next up for the Kings is the New York Knicks Monday night at 8 p.m., while the Raptors face the Boston Celtics on Tuesday at noon

The Portland Trail Blazers took an early 18-16 lead after the first quarter of play and built upon it throughout the game for a 78-65 final score over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Toshiba Vegas Summer League.
The first half was a quiet one with neither team posting 20 or more points. Although Portland held a two-point lead after the first quarter, Minnesota was shooting considerably better with a 46.2% to 33.3% advantage. Through the half, the Timberwolves made one more field goal and held the edge in shooting 41.7% (10-24 FG), but the Trail Blazers scored 19 points off of 21 free throw attempts for a 37-32 lead.
The second half continued in Portland's favor as the team outscored Minnesota 21 to 13 in the third quarter to take a 13-point cushion at 58-45. The Timberwolves could not cut the deficit down, as each team score 20 points in the fourth.
Brandon Roy led the Blazers in scoring with 17 points (5-7 FG, 7-9 FT), while Hector Romero (4-4 FG, 6-6 FT) chipped in 15 points. Martell Webster had 12 points (5-14 FG) and five rebounds.
Randy Foye once again proved to be the early favorite for Rookie of the Year as he poured in 24 points (his third straight 23+ point outing), connecting on seven of 14 field goals and 10 of 10 free throws. Bracey Wright, the only other Minnesota player to score in double digits, had 16 points (4-10 FG, 8-8 FT).
The Blazers battle the Washington Wizards tomorrow at 5 p.m., while the Timberwolves take on the Dallas Mavericks Thursday at 3 p.m.

In the nightcap of Sunday's action at the Toshiba Vegas Summer League, the Los Angeles Clippers ran away from the Boston Celtics in a 79-61 win. The teams played to a one-point differential after the first quarter, but the Celtics' six points in the second allowed the Clippers to build an eight-point cushion by the half. Los Angeles pushed its lead to a 28-point advantage late in the fourth en route to its 18-point victory.
Boston held a 57.1%-to-40.7% shooting edge after the first quarter, but only made three field goals on 18 attempts in the second. The dismal offensive effort dropped the Celtics' shooting percentage down to 34.4%. For the game, the team connected on 42.4% (25-59 FG) of its shots.
The Clippers, on the other hand, stayed steady and wound up shooting 40.7% for the first half. The team went on the offensive in the third with a 27-point outburst, while knocking down 64.7% of its opportunities. For the game, the team hit 52.8% (28-53 FG) of its attempts.
James Singleton picked up the games lone double-double, as he dropped in 10 points (3-6 FG) and collected 10 rebounds in the win. Singleton was one of four Clippers to tally double-figures in the game. Daniel Ewing led all scorers with 21 points (9-13 FG) and was followed by Boniface Ndong's 14 and Yaroslav Korolev's 12.
Gerald Green was the only Celtic to score 10 or more points. Green pitched in 12 points (4-13 FG) in the losing effort. Leon Powe, Allan Ray and Al Jefferson each threw in nine.
Both teams return to action on Tuesday afternoon. The Celtics face the Toronto Raptors at noon in the Cox Pavilion, while the Clippers take on the Houston Rockets at 4 p.m.
