Kyle Anderson of UCLA. A triple double machine! Could he be our next great player?

Kyle Anderson Vs. Giannis

BTW he's averaging 13 pts, 10 rebs, and almost 8 assists and has 4 trip dubs out of 8 games.

Edit. So what is wrong with this guy?

Sounds good to me. It's more important to me to know how to play the game than to be an athletic freak. He will be on the board when we pick, probably

DraftExpress currently has him projected 55th. No way that does not rise.

Giannis has a better motor, longer strides, longer wingspan, and more strength.

I had hope for Kyle Anderson. Think the NBA game is too fast. At least the NCAA level can slow things down with a 35 second shot clock.

Zach Levine is a sleeper on ucla, I would take Anderson in the second along with the center from baylor

honestly, why not try Anderson at pg? I think it is worth a shot. also, where the lakers look like they will be drafting there is talent. semaj christen, montrezl harrel, Andrew Harrison, kyle Anderson, shabazz napier, pj hairston, mitch mcgary, glen robinson 3, cauley-stein.

what do you think of drafting these players if the lakers win about 40 games this season, mike?

actually, I would draft Anderson to play the 4, ala lamar odom. If his measurements are anywhere close to what they state on nbadraft.net, this kid is a steal anywhere outside of the lottery. 6'9, 230, 7'2" wingspan, 9' standing reach, pg skillset, postgame, 13ppg, 8.9rebs, 7.1 ast. he may be too slow to play on the wing, but maybe he can bulk up and play in the post.

if we are drafting anywhere outside the lottery, I want this kid. I would also take Austin from Baylor and put him on creatine lol

He does seem like a PF with point forward skills.

Lamar hand an athletic advantage to go along with guard skills at the power forward position. I don't think Anderson has the same advantage but will be lacking in strength the same way Lamar did.

He could be like Lamar when he was a Clipper. Guard skills without blow by ability. He would be a steal as a second rounder.

It's now March and Anderson has raised his draft stock considerably. He's clearly better than Lavine and now leads his team with unselfish play. He shoots 48% from beyond the arc but doesn't force them. I agree with what the op said. This guy will be a triple double machine even at the next level.

He's going to be the steal of the draft because people will value Parker, Wiggins, Exum, Smart, and others over him. Unlike the other guys, his game didn't reach a plateau and now as he peaks, we're really seeing what his game is all about. Pau Gasol would be a rejuvenated star playing next to him.

Anderson isn't good enough to be a top 7 pick; nor do we have a pick in the mid-teens which is where he'll likely fall.

Yeah, as much as I like him, I don't see how we'd get him.

His improvement from year 1 to year 2 has been a major development, more than Westbrook's imo. If he improves at the same rate this off season, a lot of people are going to have regrets.

Get a 2-3 pick and trade down to get 2 picks from ????? then draft Cauley-Stein and Anderson. Those guys would help turn this squad around quickly imo.

I think he can be a serviceable player in the NBA, but not sure how his point forward effectiveness translates to the NBA when they can put a SF on him who is stronger, longer, and faster than at the college level.

By a wide, wide, wide, wide margin.

Andersen may be one of the slowest starting players in division I college basketball (obviously a little hyperbole but not too much). I know being an athletic freak isn't everything but this guy is legitimately SLOW. He would be an absolute disaster on defense and I'm not real sure how effective he would be when NBA teams could game plan the guy and defenses would have all the time in the world to rotate if he tried to drive.

Nothing personal against the guy, he's a great college player but there's a world of difference between being able to get by with change-of-pace tactics against 18,19 and 20 year old amateurs and doing the same against well paid professionals whose entire lives revolve around basketball.
