Will miss you big time Metta! Brought it every night, NEVER mailed it in. You can't ask for anything else out of a player.
Will miss the countless times where metta would harass a ball handler with that legendary left hand.
And who could ever forget the 2010 playoffs? The D on Durant, the game winner vs the suns and the 3 against Boston. Will pull that the Knicks can snatch metta up and he can get to play at home (and maybe do some behind enemy lines recruiting of Melo!)
Anyway, Laker Nation appreciates the hard work, blood sweat and tears Ron Artest/Metta World Peace has given while wearing the purple and gold.
Metta wasn't afraid to step up during crucial moments and I'll always remember him for that. Unfortunately, Mitch gave him a year or two longer on his contract than he should have had(a common theme). _________________ "It was tough," Kobe Bryant said. Metta, you are a great player, a great human being, and a great Laker. We never would have won the 2010 championship without you. You'll always have a place in the hearts of Lakers fans and the organization.

Damn, I'm going to miss his theatrics both on and off the court. The guy's a little crazy, but he's a good dude with a good heart. _________________ 1996-2016
Thank you Kobe for giving 20 years of yourself to the Purple and Gold. We are forever indebted to your greatness.

Thanks Ron. This one flat out makes me sad. This was home for him and I'm sure he wanted to retire a Laker....Hope he does.
Just wondering......if he changes his name back to Ron Artest, can we re-sign him to the vet minimum??? The new comish will have too much going on to even notice.
Going to miss the guy, best of luck to him and his family. His performance in game 7 against the Celtic basically cemented his Lakers legacy for eternity. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

I love Ron and i wish him nothing but the best. Your contribution to LA on and off the court will be remembered forever by those of us that were paying attention.
Feel stronger about Ron leaving than I did about Dwight. Haven't been this bummed out about losing a player since Fish got traded. As has been said, his Game 7 performance in 2010 was legendary. Will always be grateful for his time in purple and gold.
anyone have that .gif of artest pushing paul pierce at center court before a jump ball and the game hadn't even started yet? I love that my favorite one!
One of the most likable Lakers ever. The only one besides Kobe who consistently played hard the last couple of years. Glad he got his ring here, and I hope he'll always consider himself a Laker.
