Odds on Scola flinching when Fish walks past him in the HOU locker room?
Derek's had some huge moments as a Laker. I expect he'll be back with the organization after he hangs up his sneakers _________________ Dumbledore closed his eyes and slowly lowered his head before Kupchak. "Teach me," he whispered.
Man so many memories of clutch moments. That era is in the history books. Wonder how Kobe feels about being the longest-tenured Laker at the moment (he always was, but Fisher was a close 2nd).
Haha, Fisher to the Rockets. Hope he patched things up with Scola.
It's bittersweet. The team is drastically improved at point and saved some cash, but I'll never forget those clutch moments from Fish when it mattered most.
Who knows. Maybe he's bought out and returns next year in a more appropriate role. _________________ "Closest thing to MJ in this current league is not Kobe Bryant. It´s Demar Derozan."

This really sucks, I think it's starting to sink in for me....
It's definitely a bummer, and I'm sure Kobe's gonna be a bit indifferent about it as well considering Fish was our locker room leader and motivation guy.
But, we had to go younger.
Fish will always be a Lakers legend and deserves to have his jersey retired when all is said and done!
Retire Fish's Jersey, let's not get carried away. Fish is and was always a role player, scrub whatever you want to call it. Yeah, he had a couple of nice moments, but to call him a legend, please....

Fish had some absolutely great playoff moments for this team. I hope if the rumors of a Houston buyout a true, he comes back to the team in some capacity.
Im sad to see Fisher go out like this. He deserved better, at least bench him don't trade him to Houston for a scrub. Come back D-fish, sign a 10 day and retire as a Laker.

In all the years I've watched the Lakers I've seen players come and go and its always tough. But today is by far the saddest I've ever felt to see a Laker go. Fisher wasn't the most talented player but he had a warriors spirit, and he always wore the colors with class and honor. _________________ But remember, while today it is me, we all shall fall..

I said Laker Legend, which in my opinion he is.
Fisher, for all his faults, saved us plenty of times and contributed heavily to our 5 championships.
Minus his Utah stint, he was with our team for 11 great years.
I've had my "NO FISHER NO!" moments, plenty a time, but without his late game heroics, locker room leadership, motivational tactics, and will to win, we wouldn't be as fortunate as we've been.
Just my 2 cents. I can understand why others would feel differently. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.

It was great to have him. Sad to say that I too thought his time as a Laker was up. But still, he gave us good memories... was a good guy...

D.Fish will be missed and I for one, appreciate his accomplishment as a Laker .
I do however like our PGs now, Session starting with Blake coming up the bench and Morris as third string.
I like our chances for winning the championship this season better now!

I think the team felt that Coach Brown would have a hard time simply benching him, with Kobe having Fish's back and Fish being the proud leader that he is.
I know, you probably want to say "Fish would prove his leadership by not complaining, by sitting for the team." Well, we don't know. And when you factor in that unknown with the salary savings for next year, the decision was clear to Mitch.
I'm sure this was a very tough trade for the front office to make.
