Green, Strawberry, Sims and Kurz have all played in the NBA.

Anyone think they have a shot to make the team?

I would take a chance on Green. He can take Ammo's spot.

I would say Strawberry probably has a small chance.

I actually like Kurz to possibly make the roster from that squad. He has legit 3pt range and gives good hustle in all the other areas. He's a 40% 3pt shooter at the PF spot with pretty solid ball handling too. He'd be great in the pick and pop for our second unit, or just spotting up at the 3pt line to pull opposing PF's out of the paint. I can see him and Caracter as replacements for Powell and Mbenga. They'd also be a good inside-out combo for our blow-out unit.

Seems too much like Brian Cook to me...

He's got a much better motor than Cook from what I've seen. Kurz will actually hit the boards and block a few shots, in addition to the outside shooting. For bench fodder on a minimum contract I think he could be a nice player to have. Our team needs more reliable 3pt shooters and Kurz can give us that for cheap.

I like his defense. I wouldn't mind him being brought in as a 5th guard.

I wish we'd bring in either Mike Taylor or Joe Crawford.

I am excited to see what Green does.

Hopefully, he realizes this might be his best, last chance.

If he shows something and goes to camp, we could definitely use his athleticism and he might lessen the sting of Shannon Brown possibly moving on.

Some things to watch for Green. See how he fits in the offense, whether the ball moves at all or if it goes to him then to the rim. Look at the effort and IQ on the defensive end.

First games of the SPL are always very, very ugly in the Tri, so we'll have to give the guys a lot of slack.

Green had never been much of a passer. Also looking to see what kind of effort he puts in on the boards, another weak point of his.

Looking forward to seeing Caracter's low post game, and if he holds his positions. Plays with his back to or turns and faces? Summer league games don't give much time for that with all the running up and down, half court seems to get lost, but I hope he tries to use some of that strength.

Ebanks. Any shot? We'll see.

Now that you've pleaded for patience, allow me to be the first to predict that when Caracter has a good SL game, we'll see a thread suggesting we free up playing time for him by trading Pau.

Well Green didn't look good, he needs to do the simple things, play some defense, move the ball of offense, catch and shoot.

Green definitely looked a bit lost on both ends.

Caracter showed the back to the basket and face-up games. Very solid on that end. I wanted to see them run a little pick and pop with him.

Ebanks showed some nice midrange touch at the elbows. Those are shots that will be there in the Tri for him. He didn't try to do too much, but still got his points. Some decent D at times, but both he and Caracter looked like they needed to adjust to the speed of the game defensively. The key for them will be to string together several games like this.

Kurz looked solid. He's not going to make the team over Caracter or Ebanks, but he's at least worth a camp invite.

nba.com/rookieladder NOW HAS BANKS AND CARACTER RANKED #1 AND #2 IN THE ROOKIE LADDER RANKING... TWO BEST ROOKIES IN THE SUMMER LEAGUE AT THIS STAGE... CAN'T IMPROVE ON THAT... (I know it's just SL)...

Strawberry actually looks like he has some potential. I like his defense and he's a good athlete. He reminds me of Aaron Aflao. I think he would be a good backup at the 2 for defense assignments and give KB24 some much needed rest... His jumper from 15 isn't that bad and he can take the ball to the hole and get to the line... We might want to consider him to fill out the roster... That's if we're taking guys from SL.
