Well, I had the Lakers losing today 108-89, so they played better than I expected... they even cut the lead down to 11 or 9 at one point.

There's something about this team that relaxes a bit too much and that's playing with fire. They don't have Horace Grant, Harp, Shaq, even Shaw to rely on when the chips are down.

Hope that Lamar will play on Tuesday, they will need him to show up. If the Lakers come out with the same fire and intensity as Game 2 and 3, they will do well in Game 5.

For future reference, when BSPN says 3:30, it means 3:30 Eastern time.

yeah.. we should have gone inside constantly.. drew fouls.. get them into the penalty early...

At least we showed some fight there at the end.. but way too late.. we laid a egg in the first quarter and the third.. why can't we start right?

Stopping the bleeding is also an issue.. Guards have always torched the Lakers..

Lot of things to feel bad about in this game. 2 of the Rockets main stars (T-mac and Yao) were injured and Artest was ICE COLD out there. The Rockets played a small lineup that the Lakers were simply too stubborn to adjust to.

A small team isn't a post-threat team and yet the Rockets were given all the shots they wanted outside. Completely open, just take 'em. Probably felt just like shootaround to them. On the other end of the court, I would have never expected Chuck Hayes of all people to COMPLETELY CLOG THE PAINT. Every Laker player was just too scared to keep driving in and run into Hayes so they resorted to a ton of jump shots. I'm still not that sold on this team's jumper as a group. They love shooting it almost at the cost at not exploiting our size advantage.

Things I'd like to see for the next game:
-More Brown, less Fisher (question is will this be the difference for Brooks not to go crazy the next game)
-Please exploit the size and get more shots in the paint. Someone should be asking themselves how the smaller Hayes, Brooks, Landry are clogging the paint for Lakers bigs
-GUARD the perimeter. Small teams like taking jumpers. Don't turn this into a practice shootaround for them

I'm also praying Odom will be back next game and the back spasms will be gone with a day of rest.

I died a little on the inside because of this shameful performance. If anything can piss the hell out of me it's this freaking team. A little of that last 8 minute hustle, intensity and urgency a little bit sooner and we'd be up 3-1. And now we have to come play them here again. What a disaster. :/

I hope Odom is okay, I don't think this team can make it with the ghost of Andrew Bynum starting.

Well, I spent the afternoon with my mother because I knew the Lakers would play soft and heartless. Denver and/or Cleveland would have buried Houston in this game. SMH.

Phil Jackson, during the press conference just now, said: Give them(houston) some (bleep) credit.

I'd be pretty surprised if this team won it all. Even if they make it past Houston I think the Denver series could go either way. They just have too many flaws and don't seem to be built to be a postseason champion. But without homecourt, the way Cleveland is playing, and the calls Lebron is getting--I'd say the odds are heavily stacked against them (and that seems more apparent the larger the sample size grows). You can always say Boston struggled like this last year, but they had homecourt and a brand of defense/intensity that sets them far apart from this squad.

So true its almost depressing. Theres going to be nights when your shots dont fall, but defense is something that can always be constant. Lakers just dont care to play any real D for a full game.

Good point.

I feared the same thing. This team has a tremdously tough time getting out to a fast start. They came out flat in game 1. They made adjustments and won the next two. They came out flat in game 4. Now they'll have to make the adjustments again.

That's been the problem with this Laker team the entire season. They never figured how how they wanted to play or even who they wanted to play. That foot on the throat mentality - they never learned how to get it.

It's going to be like this for the rest of the playoffs. Lose and adjust. If they lose one, but win two, they'll be okay. But somewhere between now and the end of the series, they need to start winning the battle on the boards (especially with no Yao) and they need to stop with the turnovers which were two big Laker strengths earlier in the season.

I hate to say this, but I'm missing VladRad big time. I'm tired of seeing Ariza, Odom, and Walton missing the 3 pointer from the baseline. That three is always there in the triangle but we have nobody to knock it down. No Horry, no Vlad, No Jumaine Jones. Without a baseline 3 threat, that lane stays packed with defenders and keeps Kobe out of the paint.

What the Hell?!

I couldn't get up for the midnight game here. I woke up finding out the Lakers lost badly.

Pathetic. Simply pathetic.
