Nice win, consistent ball the whole night, nice to see Kobe and Pau get the 4th off.

If San Antonio loses to GS tonight, our next win will officially clinch the West.

Phil Jackson post-game interview:

-(Regarding HCA and the Cavs) We've got a few more road games than they do and they have a better home record than we do so that means that they have a better chance odds on, but tie goes to us so it's important that we keep pressure on them.

-(What do you think about road trips creating camaraderie?) Well, we have some new members on the team and they're doing some hijinx with them, they're goofing off with those guys, breaking them in. I think it's important that the guys get in sync with each other. Seven games, I don't know but it's good to get away.

- (What would constitute a successful road trip in your mind?) Well, we want to come home with 60 wins and that's an important part of it for us.

-(Detroit is a place where the Lakers haven't won since 2002, what do you think about going into the Pistons and how do you match up against them this year?) Well, they've been effective against us the past couple of years with some of the things they've done. Last year we had a game that looked to be won but we lost it. Shot at the buzzer, 3 pointer, that was a tough one. Right now they've got 3 regulars/starters who are out, it still doesn't mean that we know what we want to get accomplished yet with them. We haven't spent a lot of time focusing on it but we will in the next 2 days and we want to go in there and win, no doubt about it.

-(People have been critical of the "bench mob" have the problems been fixed?) You know, they're getting close. I'm not sure that they're exactly where I want them to be but I like the fact that Jordan's aggressive, he's looking for his shot, Luke seems to be in rhythm again playing the type of ball that exemplifies his game and helps his teammates and Josh got on track tonight too.

I thanked god once this game was over tonight that everyone got away uninjured

Getting to the palace right when they open the doors, to hurry and get to the Lakers tunnel area...hopefully everything works out

Josh Powell Interview:

(You guys have been blowing leads, tonight not even close. What did you do a better job of?) I think we're starting to play better on both ends of the floor, the extra practice time has definitely helped us and our communication has been good, so it's been helping.

(The bench has had 2 good games in a row, is that something that you talked about when the media and coaches were on you a little bit?) I don't think it's our intention to go out there and be terrible. I just think that towards the end of the season we have to take each one of these games and start thinking about the playoffs and getting ourselves towards that. Every game is important and we're just trying to do what we can do to sustain the effort.

(Do you think it's realistic to think you can go 7-0 on this road trip?) I think the plan is to go one game at a time and at the end of the trip we'll see what happens but we're just going to take one game at a time.

Trevor Ariza Interview:

John Ireland: You played good from start to finish which is what you weren't doing, what did you do a better job of tonight?
Trevor Ariza: Just staying with it the whole game, staying focused, paying attention to the things we do in the huddle and we did in practice and tonight we showed that we can hold onto leads and do what we're supposed to do.

JI: Why and how were you able to keep Kevin Durant in check?
TA: Just not letting him get the ball where he was comfortable at, trying to make everything tough for him. He still scored a lot of points but he got a lot of them from the free throw line so I think we did a good job as a team of guarding him.

JI: What in your mind would be a successful road trip? How many games do you need to win in order for you to be happy?
TA: Win them all (smiling).

JI: 7 & 0 you're thinking?
TA: Yeah, that's what we do. That's what we come out here to do every game and that's what we're shooting for.

What a weak game thread this turned out to be... is 14 pages a record low?

I had to watch the game on League Pass and I absolutely hated it. The stupid broadcast had all sounds other than the commentators' voices muted so much that I only could hear the loudest noises at the arena... Basically I got almost no crowd noise, no player chatter/yelling, no officials, no chants, no whistles... Only faint buzzers now and then and some barely audible music. It made the whole experience feel very detached and just overall unpleasant, as listening to the commentators was the least important thing to me. Especially with the color guy constantly complaining about how Gasol "whines to the officials after every play, foul or not, made shot or not". I know you guys are saying they played too much music but I would have much rather had sounds on and dealt with the music than have the weird no sounds version I got.

Anyway, good to get a win. And I'm glad I won't need to watch any more Laker games from the OKC broadcast feed (this year)
