EDIT: when I meant back to back shots, I didn't mean 2 consecutive shots, I meant 2 similar amazing shots in 1 game.
Jordan----- 1989, missed 2nd free throw by Pippen, Jordan came running from the 3-point line, caught the missed ball in the air and slammed it in. Minutes later, the same thing happened. Pippen once again missed his second free throw, Jordan lost his defender and came running from the 3 point line, caught the ball in mid-air with one hand and jammed it aboe everyone.
Kobe-----2004, Los Angeles trailed, 87-84, in regulation when Portland forward Ruben Patterson missed two free throws with eight seconds left. Kobe managed to get off a 26-foot 3-pointer that went right through and tied the contest leaving 1.1 seconds on the clock.
Then Kobe's long fadeaway 3-pointer at the buzzer gave the Lakers a
105-104 double-overtime victory over the Portland Trail Blazers
and won the Pacific Division title.
I would have to vote Jordan on this, Ive never seen anyone do a follow-up dunk on a missed free throw before, let alone twice in the same game with 8 players underneath the basket ready to rebound a missed free throw while losing your own defender. Kobe's shots were also amazing, but Jordan's was just unbelieavable.

Jordan's - how could it be a back-to-back shot if it was "minutes later"?
Kobe's - the shots weren't even in the same quarter! |

Kobe's shots meant MUCH more. Following up a missed free throw with a dunk, *twice*, is really good, but imo Kobe did something much more difficult, in the pressure cooker, and it won us the Pacific by the very slimmest of margins. |

Dang, this is your 2nd thread comparing Kobe to MJ. First the 7 consecutive triple-doubles that MJ never had, now this. Anyway, I'm taking Kobe because I'm a homer. I also like Kobe's rebound of a missed free throw followed by a finger roll against the Spurs because it had more meaning. I believe they won the game off that shot. Oh and his 2 shots against Portland had more meaning too |

i think in the playoffs, barkley made a shot. then turning around on the inbounds, made a steal and made the second shot. if that truly happened, then that was a great back to back shot. because it was in the playoffs.
if barkley didnt make the first shot, then at least it was a good steal. _________________ Los Angeles Lakers |

How are either of those back-to-back shots? I enjoy this forum for intelligent ideas and conversations. Not high school ground chatters like these....Why do people gotta start up threads like these...

Do you honestly think Jordan will beat Kobe in a poll on this forum.
Any poll? |

Dude, stop comparing MJ and Kobe. They may have some similar accolades, but Kobe's his own player. |

Sorry I'm going to have to go against the grain here and say Jordan by a landslide. Running from the 3 point line to catch and dunk a missed free throw is just one of the most amaznig feats of physical prowess and talent that I've ever seen. He snatched rebounds from players who were literally standing underneath the ball. And then he did it again. Kobe's shots were nice, but many people have hit 3 pointers similiar to the 2 Kobe hit... perhaps not in the same game, but it's been done before. People hit desperation 3s all the time. How many times have you seen a player do what Jordan did? Jordan wins this easily. |
